Segan’s feature film credits include New Line Cinema's Bones, a hip-hop horror film starring Snoop Doggy Dogg; New Line's The Bachelor, starring Chris O’Donnell and Renee Zellweger; and the controversial Boondock Saints, starring Willem Dafoe, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

Segan executive produced Showtime’s Emmy-nominated film, Hendrix, based on the life of Jimi Hendrix. His other producing credits include Eric Schaeffer's Wirey Spindell; Universal's thriller Judgement Night, starring Emilio Estevez, Cuba Gooding Jr., Denis Leary and Stephen Dorff; MGM’s action-drama Blown Away with Jeff Bridges and Tommy Lee Jones; and the HBO Premiere Movie Crossworlds.

In 2001, Segan approached writer/producer Michael Piller to develop a television series from Stephen King's novel The Dead Zone. The series The Dead Zone, co-developed with Shawn Piller and starring Anthony Michael Hall, debuted June 16, 2002, on the USA Network. As of 2006, the fifth season of Dead Zone is currently airing on USA Network.

In 2005, Wildfire debuted on the ABC Family channel, starring Deep Space Nine's Nana Visitor, another series that Piller developed with his son. As of 2006, the third season of Wildfire is currently in production in New Mexico.

Lloyd Segan and Shawn Piller are the principles in The Piller-Segan Company, an independent production company. Segan is married to Academy Award-winning producer Allison Lyon Segan.
