Plot summary

The story starts with Chanakya (Manoj Joshi); who recently had a dream in which Chandragupta Maurya (in the form of a lion) appeared and foretold him about the danger approaching the Mauryan Empire. Meanwhile; Bindusara (Sameer Dharmadhikari) is ruling the vast Mauryan Empire from Magadha via Patliputra (Magadha's Capital). While on the other hand; a game of conquering the throne of Magadh and the entire empire is being played by Helena (Suzanne Bernert); who in this process tried to kill Bindusar numerous number of times but remained unsuccessful due to the sheer presence of Chanakya. The show later-on focuses on the life of young Ashoka (Siddharth Nigam); who got guidance from Chanakya in tough circumstances. Chanakya also believed that Ashok will be the great ruler of Magadh because of his selfless nature and his oath of serving motherland till his last breathe. But Ashok neither wanted the throne or the entire empire as he thinks that Siyamak (Faizan Khan) is the perfect ruler of Magadh.

Meanwhile Chanakya along with Radhagupta (Jitendra Bohara) and his other disciples are busy in protecting the throne of Magadh from the evil and corrupt practices done by Helena and the other enemies of Magadh and Chanakya's oath of protecting his motherland forever created hindrance in the way of Helena; who atlast created a plot to kill Chanakya. Meanwhile Chanakya came to know that from some time; Charumitra (Prinal Oberoi) practiced black magic on Dharma (Pallavi Subhash) and inturn threatened her of dire consequences. Sushim (Sumedh Mudgalkar) hated Chanakya as he always favoured Ashok over him while Khalatak was always jealous of him as Bindusar always favoured Chanakya over him in the matters related to Magadh. So Helena was joined by Charumitra; Sushim and Khalatak. Siyamak also joined in this mission as he believed that his dear ones(Justin and Noor) had died due to Chanakya. They all killed Chanakya who in his last breathe tells Ashok that the only way to serve his motherland is to became the Emperor of Magadh by any means.

Ashok believes that Chanakya did not die due to some mishap/accident but due to a conspiracy done by the enemies of Magadh. Thus; Ashok takes a pledge to punish the culprits and fulfill Chanakya's last wish of becoming the Emperor of Magadh by any means.
