A man accidentally drives his SUV into the tram (technically premetro) tunnel entrance on the Albertlaan / Avenue Albert. According to the man, his satnav told him to keep going left (the Albertlaan curves leftward and has several sideways). On his left he saw a tunnel entrance, but due to darkness and rain he didn't notice it was a tram tunnel until it was too late. He says he considered going back, but opted to hope for a tunnel exit that would take him topside. |

Immediately afterwards, tram 4 followed him into the tunnel, so going back would have involved driving in reverse on the left track. |

This is the entry to the tunnel. I guess the pole that prevents access must have been retracted / missing. (There's an earlier access point to the tram tracks, but you cannot see it leads to a tunnel from there.) |

This is the entry to the tunnel. I guess the pole that prevents access must have been retracted / missing. (There's an earlier access point to the tram tracks, but you cannot see it leads to a tunnel from there.)
