After failing to get appropriate funds the project went on hold for almost one and half year. In early 2016, makers announced that the film is now being made in Tamil, initially the project had kicked off in Hindi. My Son Is Gay is 2016 Tamil-language Indian feature film. The independent film is written and directed by Lokesh Kumar, a filmmaker from Chennai, India. The film is an emotional journey and struggles of a mother and her gay son. It stars Anupama Kumar, a noted Tamil actress, as the mother.[1][2][3]

Plot

The story of Lakshmi, a mother, and her son Varun, who is gay. Varun struggles to accept his identity and opens up to Lakshmi, who couldn't accept him. The film is a journey of their struggles to accept reality.
