Deleted article

The article is simply an exact copy of the Austin Petersen article Wikipedia voted for immediate deletion. Even this talk page was transferred, with the pro-delete posts deleted so that it appears that people only contest all attempts to delete. Buncoshark 17:23, 29 March 2016 (UTC)

If you look at the history of the old page and compare it to this one when it was created, it's not even close to an "exact copy." This new article has much more unbiased information and more sources. Also looking at the history of the talk page, the old article's talk page was not transferred and nothing was deleted. Hamez0 (talk) 17:47, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
So how did the contest deletion comments from the Talk page get tagged along? I love how someone edited out all the pro-deletion posts and kept the contest deletion comments here. Buncoshark 17:54, 29 March 2016 (UTC)
Those were not transferred from the old article, they are new comments that were written to contest deletion of the new article when it was tagged for deletion after it was created. Click on "View History" of this talk page and you will see that no one removed anything. Hamez0 (talk) 18:49, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because Mr. Petersen's profile includes more than simply his tertiary candidacy for President. If that is the material in violation, I would be happy to reduce the topic to a mere mention and remove the category headline. With all due respect, I am extremely familiar with articles of other individuals on Wikipedia who are far less accomplished. The fact that Mr. Petersen has experience as an executive producer of a major Fox Business Network program and has starred and produced motion pictures is indeed worthy of a Wikipedia page in its own right.

All of the former extremely opinionated complaints appear to be filed solely by Libertarians with a vested interest in excluding Mr. Petersen from the nomination. This page is significantly different than the previous page since it was authored without knowledge of the previous page. I have no "dog in the race" and, therefore, am an unbiased observer.

All of the sources cited here are from reliable, third party sources, including The Washington Times. References also include multiple television appearances on Fox and RT on which Petersen offers expert political commentary. Jimmy Wales is a self-proclaimed Libertarian and our children went to school together. I know he would be interested in giving credit where credit is due as Austin Petersen is a noteworthy activist in the liberty movement and should drive much traffic to your web site.

Thank you for your consideration.

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because... Austin Petersen is one of the top 2 candidates for the Libertarian presidential nomination. He will be on a televised national debate on April 1st. He also owns a prominent newspaper: The Libertarian Republic, and has served in prominent positions within the party. Considering a recent poll has shown the libertarian nominee may reach over 10% in the general election, I'd consider him an important person to list in wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheFlame8 (talkcontribs) 15:32, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because... Austin is a legitimate candidate for the libertarian party. Those who want to delete him are merely his political opponents. They are trying to misuse power. --67.170.2.69 (talk) 15:35, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contest deletion

Austin Petersen is a notable person, even outside of the political realm, but he is definitely notable for this election.

There are Wikipedia pages that exist with far less. Hezymundo (talk) 15:41, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (It is a real person, running for president. John McAfee and Gary Johnson have a Wiki page too. Austin has been on Fox Business, Russia Today and other news media.) --91.138.24.168 (talk) 16:28, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (The information is true and factual.) --104.11.43.186 (talk) 18:24, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because this is a page on a relevant Libertarian Party presidential candidate and is not overly broad or narrow in scope. It fits Wikipedia's standards to remain. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.2.255.92 (talk) 18:25, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Delete Article

Previous article was deleted for WP:NOTABILITY

"Just being an elected local official, or an unelected candidate for political office, does not guarantee notability."

Notability of the subject has not substantially changed since the original deletion discussion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ARClitePangloss (talkcontribs) 18:38, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because this appears to be double jeopardy. An administrator has already cleared Austin Petersen as a noteworthy public figure. He is an executive producer, actor, and political pundit. I don't understand how many times in one day this "prior deletion" discussion has to denounced as unsubstantiated. Please help me understand if this will be an ongoing issue because it lessens the credibility of Wikipedia if there are Administrators seeking to remove the page who are looking to affect the outcome of a political election. I await your response. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Staceyski (talkcontribs) 18:39, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Austin Petersen. --William S. Saturn (talk) 18:40, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The only reason this advertisement was reposted after having been deleted was to influence an election by using Wikipedia as a promotional platform. I had nothing to do with the previous deletion discussion, but it should be upheld because nothing has changed since then. User:ARClitePangloss —Preceding undated comment added 18:51, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. It looks like supporters were sent to this page. It is linked from the candidate's twitter account.--William S. Saturn (talk) 18:55, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (The guy who demands the deletion is from another political campaign trying to silence others) --91.138.24.168 (talk) 18:42, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contested Deletion, but move article

This article should not be deleted because it is not "substantially identical" to the previously deleted article. Sources, sections, and content differ, and Petersen has been substantially gaining popularity since the original article was deleted. However, to be in accordance with WP:COMMONNAME, the article should be moved to simply "Austin Petersen" because this is what all sources use to refer to him. --Hamez0 (talk) 18:58, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because this individual is a presidential candidate and legitimately deserves to have information regarding his person and history displayed on a page of Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:5C6:8301:1C25:5C5B:4B3:4F76:E487 (talk) 19:00, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --206.155.89.2 (talk) 19:01, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It's about a potential candidate for president of the United States.

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because obviously Austin Peterson is a presidential candidate running for the libertarian nomination for president. Let's use some common sense here. --2601:742:8100:BE00:B87A:25BB:6608:9713 (talk) 19:01, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because... Austin Petersen is a real presidential candidate --198.21.230.29 (talk) 19:01, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (It's wrong to try and censor a candidate just because another campaign doesn't like it. More idea's and people's ideas are better than less! ) --2605:E000:7D07:6500:46:2ED:7103:202D (talk) 19:01, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --198.137.161.2 (talk) 19:02, 29 March 2016 (UTC) This isn't an ad! This is fact about a man's life... just like any other person on Wikipedia.[reply]
