Richard K. Templeton is an American electrical engineer and business executive. He is chairman, president, and Chief Executive Officer of Texas Instruments.

Education

Templeton attended Union College in New York from which he graduated in 1980 with a degree in electrical engineering.[1]

Career

After graduation, Templeton immediately joined TI where he worked in many different areas of the company. In 1996, he began heading up TI's semiconductor business. Templeton then served as Chief Operating Officer of the technology giant from April 2000 to April 2004. In May 2004 he was named CEO, and in April 2008 he succeeded Tom Engibous as Chairman of the Board.[2]

Rich Templeton is married with three children and lives in Parker, Texas. In addition to Union College, the family is affiliated with John Paul II High School in Plano, Ursuline Academy of Dallas, Trinity University in San Antonio and Southern Methodist University in Dallas.[4]
