Samir Bağırov (born 21 August 1967) is an Azerbaijani pop singer,songwriter

Bagirov was born in Baku.During his studying at school #126 Samir took a part on every festival and competitions of Pioneer songs.Shortly, he is on the scene since childhood.Upon the completion studying in the school, he admitted to the Vocal department of U. Gajibekov's State Music Academy of Azerbaijan.After the second year of studying he was called to serve in Soviet Army.He served for a fixed period as a soloist of military-concert ensemble "Song and Dance" of CFC (Caspian Fleet Club).It was a very good practice on perfection of his professionalism and personality.As a member of this ensemble, Samir performed in many cities of Former Soviet Union and abroad: Russian, Ukraine, Belarus, Baltic States, Middle Asia, Germany, Mongolia, and Afghanistan. After the army service, Samir felt the difference between classic and variety voice training and decided to discontinue education at State Music Academy.He was invited to "Gaya" State orchestra lead by Teymur Mirzoyev. Samir Bagirov says: "I remember these years with appreciations, because I am sure that every singer has to pass jazz school" At the same time, Samir was a soloist of "Gulustan" band of "Gaya"!

In 1988 - Samir became a laureate of "Baku Autumn - 88" republican competition. In 1989 - He entered to the vocal show department of the most prestigious educational institution - Gnessin Music Academy (Moscow), which trained Russian show stars like F. Kirkorov, Valeriya, I. Otiyeva, L. Dolina, M. Nasirov, Linda, etc. In 1991, Samir became laureate of "Yalta - 91" international television competition.

Especially for Samir Bagirov, master of Russian show business composed following songs "Small Cafe" and "Respond" and then the participation on all prestigious programs on ORT and RTR channels followed after that, i.e. "Song of the year", " Hit Parade Ostankino", "Morning mail", "Wider circle".


Year 1995 - commemorated with filming of the video of "Love Island" song by Samir.He receives first prize for this video in CIS video competition. In 1996, second solo concert called "We love each other so much" was held in "Respublika" palace. In 2000-2001 - Samir was invited in jury membership of "Baku Autumn 2000 and 2001" competition. In year 2001, his "Sevgilim" music video was awarded as "The best" in music video category.

And soon the audience will see first solo album by Samir Bagirov called "Sevgilim" and which consists from thirteen songs.Samir is working very hard on second solo album, where new songs will be included.Four songs are recorded already. Samir Bagirov is double laureate of "Grand" Independent Public National Prize, the owner of two "Altun Nar" - Statuette Duet, in nomination "The best multi genres singer" (with Brilliant Dadashova).
