Chris Birch (born c. 1984) formerly of Ystrad Mynach, South Wales is a former rugby player who[1][2][3] transformed from a straight man to a gay man after he suffered a stroke whilst rolling down a grass verge in Bargoed, South Wales.

Still regularly suffering with TIA (Mini Strokes), Birch has been left a totally different person after his accident as he recalls on www.chrisjbirch.com[2] The accident was in 2005,[1] when he was 20.[3]

Birch had TV appearances on The Saturday Night Show, Doctors and Filip and Fredrik in 2011, as well as I Woke up Gay and Sunday Night in 2012.[citation needed]

Totally Different Me is a BBC documentary about Birch's life before and after the incident and how he began to cope with his new life.[4] The documentary aired in April 2012.[5]
