This university is established in the year 1998, by Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Act 13, 1998. Over a sprawling Campus of about 247 acres, the RGPV is marching towards development into a center of excellence in the arena of Technical Education, Research and Innovations. University offers PhD and 69 PG and UG courses. University Dual Degree Integrated PG Programme is an initiative of Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidyalay to provide quality education to students with extraordinary skills. Started in the year 2011, this programme is offered in the six disciplines of engineering with the intake of 20 each. Duration of this course is Five year. The students of DDI-PG prgramme will get either BE and MTech degree or BE and MBA degree on the successful completion of the course. This programme is offered in the autonomous UTDs of the university.

History

To address the growing need for engineering expertise, the Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidhalaya created University Dual DegrThusn 2011.This is offered under UTD of the university.The institute offers dual degree in six branches.

Campus layout and environment

The institution is situated near Gandhi Nagar, on the outskirts of Bhopal, about 3 km from the airport on the Gwalior bypass road. The campus is spread on a contiguous 325 acres. The campus has instructional blocks, a workshop, a library block and an administrative block. The campus has residential facilities for the staff and separate hostels for both girls and boys. The institution provides a healthy academic atmosphere and has large open spaces, playgrounds and academics parks. The large number of industries situated in and around Bhopal provides excellent training opportunities to the students and staff.

Management and faculty

UTD-RGPV is governed by the rules and regulations of RGPV university and its councils of governance and management. The Vice Chancellor of RGPV is the nominal head of all management committees of the institute. The Institute has academic autonomy and therefore has freedom to adopt its own scheme and syllabus. Freedom is available to the UIT-RGPV faculty to adopt a variety of students learning strategies and develop learning resources. RGPV controls the final certification of the students, though continuous assessment is managed by the faculty of UTD-RGPV.

UTD-RGPV teaching faculty forms an effective combination of experienced, well qualified and talented teachers. Most faculty members have done their Ph.D./M.E./M.Tech. from reputed institutions like IITs, NITs and university departments. Senior faculty members have held various government and non-government portfolios. Some have been eminent educationists and have contributed to leading international and national development agencies. The institution draws heavily on faculty expertise for planning, executing and monitoring diverse activities.

At the dual degree level, admissions are determined on the Joint Entrance Examination entrance exam. The prerequisite for an entry into a B.E. program is 10+2 years of schooling.
