My intent, with this article, was to describe Union Square for those who had never been here - but at the same time, to let residents know a little more about thier own historic neighborhood. If you read it, you can see I dug up a lot of history, got pictures and images about the neighborhood, and I attempted to chronicle the events and an assortment of little interesting details.

I added structure and organized the material into sections - then I formatted everything with the tools available in Wikipedia.

With the best of intentions, I created a page and didn't realize that there was already another page with a similar name. With respect for the other effort, I pulled some very good commentary from that other page and am now proposing a merger of the two pages.

That's what happens when you're new (first effort was 05-05-2006) and don't take the time to check the process.

To present my own credentials, I am the webmaster of the Union Square Online web site: http://union-square.us

Your comments are welcome.

Hello, all -

After all these months, I got the feedback I had been waiting for regarding this entry. Here is what the note said:

This article or section is not written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article.

I'm not sure what to do next. Can anyone help or offer some suggestions as to what makes for a more formal tone?

My intent, with this article, was to describe Union Square for those who had never been here - but at the same time, to let residents know a little more about thier own historic neighborhood.

If you read it, you can see I dug up a lot of history, got pictures and images about the neighborhood. I attempted to chronicle the festivals, events; and I included an assortment of interesting details. I added structure and organized the material into sections - then I formatted everything with the tools available in Wikipedia.

As I mentioned when I began this project, any comments are most welcome.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
