This is a partial list of awareness ribbons. The meaning behind an awareness ribbon depends on its colors and pattern. Since many advocacy groups have adopted ribbons as symbols of support or awareness, ribbons, particularly those of a single color, some colors may refer to more than one cause. Some causes may be represented by more than one ribbon.

Colors and meanings

Ribbon	Color	Meanings
	Pink ribbon	Breast cancer awareness.^[1]
	Red ribbon	HIV/AIDS awareness^[2]^[3] Substance-abuse awareness (Red Ribbon Week is commonly held in American schools.)^[4]
	Yellow ribbon	Traditional (in the U.S. and in Canada) symbol of support for military forces, especially those deployed overseas and in conflicts. Rural Fire Service Queensland - A symbol of unilateral support of Rural Fire Brigades across the state of Queensland Australia (instituted by the Rural Fire Brigades Association Queensland {RFBAQ} at Rockhampton 16 September 2012 and tabled in Hansard by the Newman LNP Government 14 October 2014 "Matters of Public Interest 3311")^[5]
	Lime green ribbon	Non-Hodgkin lymphoma awareness^[6]
	Jade ribbon	Jade Ribbon Campaign awareness about hepatitis B and liver cancer^[7]
	Blue ribbon	Canada's National Non-Smoking Week^[8]^[9]^[10] "Stand With ACLU" initiative^[11]
	Purple ribbon	Month of the Military Child, Celebrating Military Kids^[12] Spirit Day and victims of homophobia^[13] Awareness of interpersonal violence and abuse prevention^[14]
	White ribbon	A symbol of distrust to the official results of 4 December 2011 elections to the Russian State Duma^[15]
	Black ribbon	Typically a sign of mourning, or otherwise in memoriam^[16] Awareness of POW/MIAs^[16] Anti-violence campaign in New Zealand.^[17]
	Zebra-print ribbon	Rare-disease awareness^[18]
	Houndstooth ribbon	Relief efforts in Tuscaloosa and northern Alabama following the 27 April 2011 tornado (The pattern evokes former University of Alabama head football coach Bear Bryant, an icon of the city and its area.)^[19]
	Orange and black ribbon	Ribbon of Saint George; commemoration of World War II in post-Soviet countries^[20]^[21]
	Red, white and blue ribbon	Used in Omaha, Nebraska, after a deadly shooting at Millard South High School (Matches to the school's colors)^[22]
