Career
Beginnings
Carrie Wong was chosen as one of the six contestants for the Preliminary Rounds of Hey Gorgeous. As the only girl contestant from Nanyang Polytechnic, she successfully made it into the Semi-Finals, followed by the Finals. Having emerged as Second Runner-Up, behind Winner and fellow Nanyang Polytechnic student, Alfred Low.
On January 2014, Carrie Wong officially signed on to MediaCorp as a full-time artiste.
Entry into television dramas
In 2013, Carrie Wong, along with other Hey Gorgeous past contestants starred in their first drama on MediaCorp Channel U, Scrum, broadcast on February 2014. Wong portrayed a handicapped Sport Sciences polytechnic student.
Following her entry into MediaCorp as a full-time artiste in January 2014, she went on to play major roles in dramas, Against the Tide and The Journey: Tumultuous Times alongside veteran actors. The roles were not handed to her on a silver platter as she had to go through two rounds of auditions before she was cast as Christopher Lee's on-screen sister. Her portrayals of a schizophrenic woman in Against the Tide, as well as that of a hot-tempered sweet soup seller in Tumultuous Times has garnered her numerous praise from the audiences, as well as a nomination for Best Supporting Actress under the series Tumultuous Times and Top 10 Most Popular Artistes. Due to her well-praised acting, she was also nominated for Best Newcomer award, but lost to Aloysius Pang.
Wong has also filmed some TV series, such as 118 between 2014 and 2015, Life - Fear Not between 2015 and 2016; followed closely with The Gentlemen and You Can Be An Angel 2. Her most recently completed project would be Dream Coder where she portrays a computer coder being stuck in a triangle relationship. Wong is still in the mist of filming on a sequel, 118 II. She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress under the series 118 and has received her second consecutive Top 10 Most Popular Actress as well her first Social Media awards during Star Awards 2016. She has won her third consecutive Top 10 Most Popular Actress award during Star Awards 2017.
