Remarkably similar, no? And Ikeji's article tells us "This is a sponsored post...". It seems to me that the Wikipedia article just recycled Israel's auto-hagiography. @User:Hoary, Thank you for your observation but this doesn't change anything about the subject not satisfy WP:ANYBIO and WP:BASIC to be eligible on the English wikipedia.. Linda Ikaji Blog is purely a sponsor blog with no editorial oversight and hence wasn't included atall as a reference. Linda Ikeji blog only picked the subject profile form his personal website to post and that doesn't mean they are not true. Besides recent edits from Lopifalko and other experienced editors have further corrected those wrong impressions. So the debate should be that: the subject as of now(after all corrections) if it satisfy WP:BASIC or not and not judging it from its former form. Thanks . Ikeji's recycling of this publicity junk most likely had a financial motive. What was your motive, Kaizenify? If you actually believed that it was of encyclopedic value, you were seriously deluded. But yes, let's look at the "source" you most recently offer, here in this AfD page: 'Admin. "Queen Elizabeth II Hosts Obasanjo, Kofi Anan, Dayo Israel, Others At Commonwealth Africa Summit". Mirror news. Retrieved 13 October 2017.' The text of the story, by "McYodel", is a little confused (and pretty boring), so let's first look at its (many) photos. A lot of them show Obasanjo and the others. Only one of them, I think, shows QE2. None of them shows both Obasanjo (or the others) and QE2. Why not? Simple! QE2 did not host anyone. To quote the article: "Other special guests at the weeklong activity included Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II...." So Israel and QE2 were fellow-guests. Or rather, they were fellow-guests if the article you cite is worth taking seriously. What is currently the latest article by "McYodel" is "Wife of Ghana’s Vice President, Samira Bawumia Is Gorgeous!!!" ("Vice president Mahamudu Bawumia’s wife, Samira Bawumia was all shades of stunning during the 60th Independence anniversary of Ghana"). No Nigerian Mirror is mentioned in Mirror (disambiguation); but its website shows that it's a mere tabloid (with or without a print version). @User:Hoary, thank you very much but at this junction I will have to avoid joining issues with you as it is obvious that your comments are offtrack as regard if the subject meet WP:BASIC or WP:ANYBIO or not. Citing Linda Ikeji financial motive in this context is off track as she was never included in the references from on-set and even when the promotion was done on her website, it was purely on the bases to seek the electorates votes during the electioneering period which is over now so asking for my motive now for creating the subject is really petty. And hence without any further interference I beseech any other volunteer editor to go through the subject Dayo Israel after all the adjustments and see if it is worthy of an encyclopedia first before driving at conclusions. alright user:Hoary, thanks for the heads up. Ok, so quickly for the sake of other editors that will want to reach a consensus and to satisfy your request. I will mention my claim to the subject notability whilst still touching some references. Its unfortunate that some of the references I could have used are dead now but never the less this will still work. First to satisfy the subject passing WP:BASIC which suggest that having being covered by multiple sec sources and primary sources: which was published in 2012, also talked about the subject biography, lastly (and many other sources) talked about how the subject led the Nigeria Delegation to the Commonwealth Day and Nigeria's Centennial Celebration in London which is worthy of notability. Secondly: the subject also satisfy WP:ANYBIO as he won multiple awards like GAB award, PEWA, nominated on three different occasions for The Future Awards, also recently mention as part of the '100 most influential African' by Africa Youth Awards and lastly satisfy the clause for WP:ANYBIO that 'the person will have made a widely recognized contribution his or her specific field' which for this subject is Advocacy(field) and has been on the forefront since 8years old having featured on CNN, Ben TV e.t.c. Slightly reformatting your comment above:

The first of these three says little about what he has done. It does say that he "was at the forefront of passing the Child Rights Act into law in Nigeria in 2003" but it says nothing about what this being-in-the-forefront actually consisted of. (Also, was he alone at the forefront, or was he one of a hundred people at the forefront?) The second uncritically recycles what Israel said (or wrote in email, or whatever). Contrary to what you say, the second doesn't mention either "centennial" or "commonwealth". And all we learn about Israel in the third is "GLEEHD Foundation's Nigeria Director, Dayo Israel leads the Nigeria Delegation to the Commonwealth Day Observance Service and Nigeria's Centennial Celebration in London." @Hoary, its funny how you drive to your conclusions saying the second reference raised is however a product of Israel mail; to think that the supposedly news media is The Nations Newspaper, one of the leading tabloid in Nigeria. Anyway, its obvious that you are more of the 'destructive' side of this subject rather than 'constructive' and hence halt my writings here as regard the subject. I hope editors from Nigeria who understand the jurdisction of improving Nigeria content on the English wikipedia amidst challenges like dead links, improper journalism coverage e.t.c. will see to it that the subject satisfy WP:ANYBIO and WP:BASIC notability criteria. • I haven't opened Google to check if it passes WP:GNG but I have read the article, and what I noticed is that, so many things are being said without sufficient inline citations. For example, the statement on him being the special assistant at the National Assembly. Special assistant on what? Is the information on the national assembly website? then, on the awards won/nom, I see you said he was nominated/won The Future Awards thrice, could you provide sources for that? Lastly, it was stated that United Nations listed him as one of the "100 Most Influential People of African Descent" in 2017, I need a source for this too. alright Darreg. Your concerns are valid. First on being a special assistant to the national assembly: Punch Newspaper mention here during an interview that he was Senior Special Assistant to Senator Jide Omoworare, also YNaija mentioned here in an interview aswell. And the next as regard being nominated or or winning awards: first this newsmedia reported here that he was selected as part of 100 most influential africans, this also said that he was named 'one of Africa's Top 30 Most Inspirational young people'.. He was reported here that Israel was also a finalist for The Future Awards Young Person of the Year alongside Genevieve Nnaji and D’banj in 2007 and here, here highlighted this. • Comment: I am suspicious of the claim of notability. The article claims he is the chair of this and the director of that, but nothing about what he has actually done in those roles. As Darreg points out, if at least even each of the claims of membership of organisations was supported by a reliable ref, then that would go far in allaying my suspicion. I have not read any wider on him than the article. I lack an understanding of the context of his country or his profession, but my potentially ill founded suspicion is that his notability comes from merely his trying to seem notable, by putting his name to as many talking shops as possible. -Lopifalko (talk) 13:16, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
