Stop icon This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at iPhone X, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Darius robin (talk) 13:08, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your first few edits were vandalism. Your last edit was not. Please understand the time at which I give you the warning, and stop searching the warning templates page for random warnings. Darius robin (talk) 14:23, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Darius robin:I am neither searching Wikipedia for random warnings nor am I vandalizing pages. Please either explain how my edits were vandalism or stop trying to create conflicts. Your removal of my content was indeed a violation of Wikipedia's requirement to assume good faith.

These two edits (1 and 2) clearly portray vandalism, one of them adds false information and the other removes content without reason. Please stop accusing others of violating Wikipedia rules without you following them yourself. Darius robin (talk) 14:34, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Darius robin: What false information was added specifically? What content was removed without a reason? Are you disputing my edit summaries? If so, I will gladly update my edit summaries to reflect the changes, but I need specific examples of the false information added. Venator 14:37, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please check this and this. If you can't figure out what you did wrong, you're stupid. THANK YOU. Darius robin (talk) 14:42, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Darius Robin and New Editors

I believe that it is rather excessive to put a level 4 vandalism warning on a (relatively) new editor's page after several good faith edits. While it is certainly appropriate to avoid vandalism, this type of action seems to be a direct violation of both the assumption of good faith (WP:AGF) and the general guideline to not bite newcomers (WP:BITE). Since Darius' note was on my talk page, I did want to take the time to clarify this point, but I do not have any desire to rekindle this minor 'war.'

HIV denialism

Hello. Let me quote user "Ian.thomson", from a thread in the HIV denialism Talk page: "Some denialists assume that AIDS is a consequence of anal sex". This is why I edited the article and wrote "(precisely, anal sex)". It's not random sexual behavior that denialists point to, but specifically anal sex, as opposed to vaginal sex. My edit was in complete good faith and not intended to vandalise the article. I'm surprised as to why you gave me such a warning and made this accusation. I wish this edit could find it's way back into the article. I see that my second edit was left in. Was it because I pointed to a source? If that's the case, I might be able to understand why the "anal sex" addition seemed to violate any rule. 190.173.207.99 (talk) 00:48, 9 April 2018 (UTC) Ezequiel[reply]

Fixed Well, I see what you are saying. I was perhaps a bit hasty to mark that particular edit as vandalism, but I would still leave it out of the header just because it is a detail which really belongs in the content. According to the article, that belief is confined to North America, so it would be a detail in the article, not necessarily a fact included in the broad introduction. Other than that, I will put a message on your talk page clarifying that your edit was indeed a good-faith edit and letting you know of this comment. Thank you for letting me know! zfJames (talk) 00:59, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Banned from editing on Nicktoons UK?

Why don't I STUFF YOUR FACE IN?!?! 217.42.129.40 (talk) 17:25, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have not 'banned you from editing' as you claim in the header. Please avoid personal attacks since nothing on Wikipedia is worth fighting for at that level. Thanks! zfJames (chat page) 17:29, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I just added the names of Donald Trump Jr.'s five children! What's wrong?? Marie.margaretha (talk) 18:39, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that these edits appear to be in violation of the specific request on the page to not add the children's names. However, I agree with you that your edits were not vandalism and that I was incorrect in my assessment. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ZfJames (talkcontribs) 11:47, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It wasn't vandalism but it was a BLP violation and edit warring. Marie.margaretha, please obtain consensus at Talk:Donald Trump Jr. before reinstating. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 19:25, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@DrFleischman: Thanks for noting that! I did mention that on Marie.margaretha's talk page, but I wasn't sure if I should have left it or not. zfJames (chat page) 19:30, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. (I am not watching this page, so please ping me if you want my attention.) --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 19:47, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Case Ih

Thank you for correcting my mistake! I am new to Wikipedia and still learning. JFarmsJD8295 (talk) 21:43, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@JFarmsJD8295: Not a problem! I appreciate your willingness to learn, and I would recommend some of the articles linked at the Policies and Guidelines article. The amount of information listed about 'how to edit' can be overwhelming, but feel free to look at the help page. You can always experiment on your sandbox page. :) Have fun editing! zfJames (chat page) 21:51, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

About University of Dhaka Page

Hey ZfZames, I don't understand why all extracurricular organizations and club details were removed? All those clubs exists and I have added one remaining DUCC. After that I found removed the whole section. I am relatively new. Can you tell how can I retrieve all those. Thanks Mizan Al Mim (talk) 20:58, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Mizan Al Mim: Well, I'm not sure that there is honestly any good policy reason why the club details were removed. I think the reason that the edit was originally undone was because it did not seem to fit the particular style of the rest of the piece. I undid the edit because it appeared to be an instance where you were just trying to add a bunch of unrelated content to a college page. I noticed that another editor, Ponyo, also undid your contribution, saying "Undid revision 840272368 by Mizan Al Mim (talk) the restored text contains a number of copyright violations and is overly-promotional in tone." So, at this point, I would take the issue to the talk page of the article since you don't want to be caught accidentally edit warring (the three-revert rule applies) even though your edits may be legitimate. Does that help? - zfJames Please ping me in your reply on this page (chat page , contribs) 21:08, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I see I am dealing with you again.Which I am not excited about! I see you are complaining about removing stuff from my own page. The issue was resolved before hand and I was just clearing space. And who has time to just troll Wikipedia looking for itty bitty stuff like you do.So get a life .And BUZZ off . JFarmsJD8295 (talk) 01:58, 9 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Agree @JFarmsJD8295: I apologize for re-instating content on your talk page. After reviewing the appropriate guidelines, I realize that I was indeed in the wrong and I appreciate your message notifying me of my mistake. Thank you for your time! I should note that I have not been 'watching' or 'stalking' your talk page in any fashion; I merely happened upon the page during the course of my other edits. - zfJames Please ping me in your reply on this page (chat page , contribs) 14:13, 9 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Review the page.

Hello! Can you please review this page Walmart? I've added the official statement published by Walmart news on the acquisition of Flipkart as a reference but the thing is, it asks for a reviewer and I saw that you are the right one to do it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.226.132.255 (talk) 18:16, 9 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@117.226.132.255: While I would love to review those changes (which look pretty good), I am not a pending changes reviewer. Great work though! I'll be looking with interest to see if those edits pass, which they should soon. Thanks for asking, and feel free to ask me or go to the Wikipedia:Teahouse if you've got any other questions! Either way, I would recommend creating an account so that you can get your own user page and work towards earning the trust required to make changes to protected pages along with other rights. :) - zfJames Please ping me in your reply on this page (chat page , contribs) 20:51, 9 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Donovan Mitchell

You removed some of my edits to Donovan Mitchell's page and claimed they were not verifiable. Every fact or statement I included was cited with a link to an article from ESPN. Curious as to why you took issue with the verifiability of any of that content.Ballislife1891 (talk) 21:56, 9 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed @Ballislife1891: I'm glad that you pointed that out! I had indeed removed valid and sourced material in addition to your unreferenced quote. I meant to just remove the quote, which didn't have a valid source. Thanks for bringing that to my attention! - zfJames Please ping me in your reply on this page (chat page , contribs) 22:00, 9 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@ZfJames: Gotcha, thanks for clarifying. Must have missed the citation on the quote as it came from the same article. Put it in last so I probably forgot to re-cite. Thanks so much! Ballislife1891 (talk) 22:03, 9 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Thank you so much but am totally lost.....help

Thank you for your kind words but I just dont really know what I am doing. I wanted the athens image to go as have better pics. I am trying to tidy it up as a tv company is interested in Dad's story. One French woman replied in french and said one pic was blurry, and removed it, fair enough so I put in clearer pics sent but they are very old pics of course. Then I got another message in French which I do not understand. I know I could be not following rules, but I am too stupid to know what they are. Could you take pity on me ;) kareenzaKareenza (talk) 14:20, 12 May 2018 (UTC) re terence hogan[reply]

@Kareenza: French? Could you maybe post a link to the area where that happened? I definitely take pity on you! See my next message! :) - zfJames Please ping me in your reply on this page (chat page , contribs) 19:57, 12 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: I assume this user was the French woman. Kareenza created commons:Commons:Deletion requests/Commons:Criteria for speedy deletion by mistake, and Lacrymocéphale responded in this deleted edit. -- SLV100 (talk) 23:35, 12 May 2018 (UTC) :)[reply]

someone has taken all my pics down that I put up on my dead fathers site today and is accusing me of vandalism

PLEASE can you help. I have not been on my wiki site for years. I came back today and uploaded pictures they have all been taken down and they mention vandalism and I have been blocked. I dont understand please help me kareenzaKareenza (talk) 16:55, 12 May 2018 (UTC) terence hogan[reply]

@Kareenza: Hmmm... While I don't see anything in your chat page which would indicate that you have been blocked from editing. From the looks of it, Terence Hogan and Roz Hogan in Cannes.jpg was deleted because of a copyright violation, as were:
He_had_film_star_looks_and_he_had_a_good_heart.jpg
Terence_Hogan_and_daughter_journalist_karen_hogan_on_beach_1974.jpg
Terry_aged_twenty_lost_in_thought_when_his_life_from_the_slums_of_his_childhood_was_turning_around.jpg
Terry_aged_twenty_lost_in_thought_when_his_life_from_the_slums_of_his_childhood_was_turning_around.jpg
At this point, I would recommend only uploading your original work (not copied from any other source) and I would read Commons:Licensing to see what you can and cannot add under a license. Does that help? I wish I could offer more advice, but I haven't yet specialized in picture-uploading and Wikipedia copyright requirements. Also, be aware that your changes will be viewed with additional skepticism since you are closely connected with your topic. Feel free to post a question on your own page with the {{help me}} tag, or you can ask at the Teahouse. Thanks!  :) - zfJames Please ping me in your reply on this page (chat page , contribs) 19:54, 12 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@ZfJames:You have been really kind, some have not been kind especially a comment regarding my job. Why would people on here be nasty when I am barely on here except to look at other peaoples great work and have not the experience of others. Most of the images are in google images from an big article I wrote in a Newspaper. As they are in the public domain do you know if I can use them thank you for your kindness K Kareenza (talk) 00:21, 13 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Kareenza: Thank you, Kareenza! I appreciate your compliment. Yes, people sometimes have a tendency to 'bite the newcomers' which is unhealthy and discouraged. Fortunately, most of the editors here may come across rough only because they are trying to solve numerous issues on Wikipedia at a time and do not have the time to address each person's individual questions in-depth, if that makes sense. If someone ever leaves you a personal attack, you will want to read this section (as well as the rest of the page). If someone makes a legal threat, there are other avenues of response. I doubt that someone has actually made an intentional personal attack or legal threat, but it's good information for you to know.
Ok, here's the best I can do with that question: Chances are good that the images you selected from the internet were copyrighted by the newspaper which published them. In other words, since they were published by a money-making company, chances are good that they are probably not available for commercial reuse and derivative works. To check that assumption, you can look on the publisher's website (or other resources that you have for that source) to see if they have an image copyright policy or image license listed. If there is a license, then it must allow for commercial reuse and the creation of derivative works (I got that information from here). Alternatively, you can search for relevant images as described here or you can contact the publisher (the website that published the source) to find out if they will distribute the image under a different license (asking for permission). I would recommend reading the Finding Images Tutorial article to see if that information will help!  :) - zfJames Please ping me in your reply on this page (chat page , contribs) 00:52, 13 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
