I suggest that food salvage is merged into food rescue. Food rescues generally concentrate on perishable foods while food banks work with non-perishable ones (canned, dried). So food banks and food rescues are definitely different subjects, although related. Do we need articles on both food rescue and food banks?

Food rescue and foodbanking seem to me to be identical concepts, or at least near enough to question if there should be two different articles. Perhaps we should merge the two. Food rescue being the concept and food banks being one of the implementations. --Bruce Hall (talk) 07:38, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is also a page on Food Salvage. These all seem to be different terms for the same concept. --Bruce Hall (talk) 08:05, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Food Banks and Food Rescue are not the same concept. However, "food salvage" probably should be merged with Food Rescue.--71.111.229.19 (talk) 16:35, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest that food salvage is merged into food rescue. Food rescues generally concentrate on perishable foods while food banks work with non-perishable ones (canned, dried). So food banks and food rescues are definitely different subjects, although related. NB, New Zealand. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.80.123.42 (talk) 03:27, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Food Rescue and Food Banks are connected but not the same thing

Hi. I understand that food banks are connected to food rescue but rescuing food is also connected to other topics. Rotten food cannot be distributed to humans but can still be useful and beneficial for things like composting to feed the soil and feeding to livestock. People are also using rotten food to convert into fuel. None of these examples have anything to do with food banks yet they are all connected to food rescuing just like food banks are. So I believe it deserves its own page. All pages can be connected with the [[ ]] symbols, though. Colenyj (talk)
