The accompanying music video premiered on January 12, 2009 and was directed by Benny Boom.

Critical reception

Rap-Up commented that the song is "calling out an unfaithful ex, the Detroit rapper searches for and refuses to break up with."[4] HotNewHipHop stated that "on the uptempo love song, the Detroit rapper searches for an unfaithful ex...Even though Teairra was betrayed and left by her lover, she will not let him go when it comes to love."[5]

Composition

"Hunt 4 U" is an R&B/pop song, with a length of four minutes and twelve seconds. It was produced by Rico Love, and written by Marí, Cooper and Richard Preston Butler, Jr, with additional production by Love's production team Ehood & E2.[6]

The song is defined as where somebody searches for their lover who is missing and they refer it to a "hunt 4 u".[7]

Music video

The video was shot in early December 2008 in Los Angeles, California by director Benny Boom and features Pleasure P.[8] A behind the scenes clip was leaked on January 1, 2008 and the video later premiered at midnight on January 12. The video also features an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish by Platinum Motorsports.[9]
