The Time is the second album by British pop band Bros and the follow-up to the successful debut Push. It was released on 16 October 1989 and was their first album as a duo (Matt Goss and Luke Goss) due to the departure of bassist Craig Logan earlier in the year. It was also the first album to feature Matt and Luke as co-writers, along with Nicky Graham.

The album reached #4 in the UK Albums Chart and spawned four hit singles Too Much UK 2, Chocolate Box UK 9 Sister UK 10, Madly in love UK 14, all of singles spent around 8 weeks on the UK single charts. [2] It ended up being certified Gold.[3]

The album was also released across Europe, Asia, Australia USA, Canada. Bros also toured the USA and Canada with Debbie Gibson to promote their second album.

Notes

  • Sister" was written about Matt and Luke's stepsister Carolyn, who was killed in a collision with a drunk driver in London in 1988.
  • "Life's a Heartbeat" was originally released as the b-side to the 7" versions of the single "Chocolate Box".[16]
