A belated welcome!

Sorry for the belated welcome, but the cookies are still warm!

Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, WhiteHartLane. I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page, consult Wikipedia:Questions, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there.

Again, welcome! Jenks24 (talk) 11:07, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Updating Template Query

I create a page for Fred Finch (footballer) and realised he was not listed in the list of Peter Crimmins Medal winners.

I updated that page and then added Finch to Template:Peter Crimmins Medal however the change to the template does not seem to have worked when I expand the template at the bottom of Fred Finch (footballer) - the first item should now read 1925: Finch. Not sure what I have done wrong (or what I have missed) - this is the first time I have tried to update a template.

Is anyone able to help me out?

Hi WHL. You've done everything fine, it can just take some time for changes to templates to filter through to the articles they're used on. It's got something to do with the Job queue, but that's about as much as I can explain because most of the technical stuff flies over my head. Anyway, you should be able to see the change to the template on the article within a few hours at most I'd expect. Jenks24 (talk) 11:36, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New Challenge for Oceania and Australia

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Oceania/The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/The 5000 Challenge are up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. The Australia challenge would feed into the wider region one and potentially New Zealand could have a smaller challenge too. The main goal is content improvement, tackling stale old stubs and important content and improving sourcing/making more consistent but new articles are also welcome if sourced. I understand that this is a big goal for regular editors, especially being summertime where you are, but if you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Oceania and Australia like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1700 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for the region but fuelled by a series of contests to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. The Africa contest scaled worldwide would naturally provide great benefits to Oceania countries, particularly Australia and attract new editors. I would like some support from existing editors here to get the Challenges off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile and potentially bring about hundreds of improvements in a few weeks through a contest! Cheers.♦ --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:12, 24 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled

Hi WhiteHartLane, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Jenks24 (talk) 09:42, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, WhiteHartLane. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi WhiteHartLane, I was wondering what your source was for this edit, as, per WP:BLP, dates of death on living (or possibly living) people cannot be added without a reliable source. Do you have one that we could add to the page? Thanks. Canadian Paul 08:16, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
