John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is an upcoming American neo-noir action thriller film directed by Chad Stahelski and written by Derek Kolstad. It is the third installment in the John Wick film series, following John Wick (2014) and John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017). The film stars Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Mark Dacascos, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, and Laurence Fishburne. It is scheduled to be released on May 17, 2019 by Lionsgate.

Premise

Still on the run following his assassination of a member of the High Table in The Continental, and with a $14 million global contract on him, John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is excommunicated from every Continental service, which forces him to fight his way out of New York City with the help of a hitwoman (Halle Berry) who still believes in his trust.

Cast

Jerome Flynn has been cast in an unspecified role, and Yayan Ruhian, Cecep Arif Rahman, Tiger Hu Chen, Boban Marjanović, Vladimir and Vlado Mihailov, Danish Bhatt, and Candace M. Smith have been cast as assassins.

Production

In October 2016, Chad Stahelski, who directed the two prior films, stated that a third film in the John Wick series was in the works,[1] and in June 2017 it was reported that Derek Kolstad, who wrote the two prior films, would return to write the screenplay.[2] In January 2018, it was reported that Stahelski would return to direct with Hiroyuki Sanada in talks to join the cast.[3] Later, it was revealed that Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, and Lance Reddick would reprise their roles from previous John Wick films.[4] In May 2018, Halle Berry, Anjelica Huston, Asia Kate Dillon, Mark Dacascos, Jason Mantzoukas, Yayan Ruhian, Cecep Arif Rahman and Tiger Hu Chen joined the cast.[5][6][7] In November 2018, Said Taghmaoui confirmed his involvement in the film.[8]

Filming began in May 2018 in New York City and Montreal, along with the additional filming locations of Russia, Morocco, and Spain.[4][9][10]
