Lal Vijay Shahdeo is a hotel manager. He used to be a director in the Indian film and television industry. A native of Lohardaga, he currently lives in Mumbai.

Early life

Lal Vijay Shahdeo has worked as a casting agent, character artist and a wedding photographer, then as a television director.[1] [2] He then directed two hindi feature films, Black Suitcase, Lohardaga and a regional film Phulmania.

Career

Shahdeo has worked with many companies like UTF, Percept Picture Company, B.R. Films, Creative Eye, Miditech and Big Synergy. Shahdeo had the opportunity to work with the top GEC's/Channels in India, like Star Plus, Star One, Sony, Zee TV and Hungama. He has worked as a Casting Director, Senior Executive Producer, Creative Director, Supervising Producer, Head of Operations, Project Head, Writer and Director.[3]

Shahdeo began the direction of the movie "Black Suitcase" but the producer, Pankaj Kapoor backed out of the project mid way when he saw his work.

Shahdeo's first feature film that was completed was "Manu Ka Surrender", later changed to "Lohardaga", never got a release due to some conflict with him and the producer. Apparently he never told the producer that the main lead of the film was his own son who lacked both skills and the looks to be given such an important role.

Known for his bad temper and drinking problem, he made a mockery of himself making ruckus at the JIFFA 2019. When he was refused any award for his nagpuri disaster "Phulmania", which was wholeheartedly rejected by the audience describing it as misogynistic, gross and boring, he staged a boycott along with his minions beating up members of JIFFA. It was also reported that he had called in actors as guests at the event in the pretext of giving them awards and when the ceremony closed with none of them receiving any, Lal Vijay Shahdeo had a nervous breakdown and went berserk at the organisers.[4]

Shahdeo's short film "The Silent Statue" that was featured in JIFFA has also been accused of falsification. Being claimed as have been screened in the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, the short film was actually screened in the Cannes Short Film Corner which showcases anyone and everyone with a film and some money.[5]

Shahdeo's 2018 production of the regional film Phulmania has halted as it has been opposed by the Sarna Samiti of Jharkhand[6] due to the presence of nudity and sexual violence.

He is currently a hotel manager in some remote village outside Mumbai.
