== Anonymous narrator? ==

The article states that the narrator it's anonymous, but it's a self-insertion of Gabriel García Marquez himself, you can confirm it by looking at the names of the family of the narrator in the novel: the name of the mother matches with the name of Gabriel García Marquez's mother, same for the wife, the name of the aunt of the narrator is Wenefrida Márquez(that means that one of the 2 surnames of the narrator is Marquez), there is also the mentioning of a brother named Jaime(Garcia Marquez also has a brother named Jaime in real life).

I kind of remember that in one part of the novel somebody calls the narrator "Gabriel", but I'm not completely sure.
