State Route 435 was once a proposed limited-access north-south highway in [[Portage County, Ohio|Portage County]], as a result of a 1968 planning report. Plans included connections to [[State Route 14 (Ohio)|State Route 14]], [[State Route 59 (Ohio)|State Route 59]], [[State Route 261 (Ohio)|State Route 261]], [[Interstate 76 (Ohio)|Interstate 76]] and [[U.S. Route 224 (Ohio)|U.S. Route 224]]. Connections further north and south were purposed, but plans never developed. Designed to relieve traffic from [[State Route 43 (Ohio)|State Route 43]] and [[State Route 44 (Ohio)|State Route 44]], its centerline was 1 mile east of State Route 43. However, the plan never took off. State Route 435 is an east-west state highway in the southwestern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. Its western terminus is at U.S. Route 35 approximately 5½ southwest of Jeffersonville, and its eastern terminus is at State Route 729 4½ miles south of Jeffersonville.
