Easy Life are an English alternative band formed in 2017 in Leicester. In 2018 Easy Life signed to Island Records[2].

Background

Formed by frontman Murray Matravers in mid 2017 [2], Easy Life released their first single "Pockets" via Chess Club Records in November 2017[3] and subsequently signed to Island Records to release their debut mixtape 'Creature Habits' in April 2018[4].

Following the release of the singles 'Frank' (July 2018)[5] and 'Nightmares' (September 2018)[6] the band appeared on Later... With Jools Holland (Series 53, Episode 2) [7].

The band finished 2018 by releasing their 4th single 'Temporary Love Part 1' (with b-side 'Temporary Love Part 2') in December [8].

In February 2019, Easy Life's singer Murray appeared on the popular YouTube channel Colors performing the b-side to 'Frank', 'OJPL' [9]. They subsequently released their second mixtape 'Spaceships' containing the single 'Sunday' in March [10] ahead of their first trip to the USA, playing South by Southwest[11] and a sold out UK tour [12].

They released the 'Houseplants' single (with b-side 'Spaghetti Hoops') in May 2019 and played the Spotlight Show at The Great Escape Festival[13], plus Governors Ball Music Festival in New York[14] and headlined the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury Festival[15] in June.

Debuting as Annie Mac's 'Hottest Record In The World' on BBC Radio 1 on 16 July 2019, the band released the single 'Earth' alongside a video commentating on environmental issues, shot at a plastic recycling plant in Morocco.[16][17].
