The sitio was composed of only five houses inhabited by twelve families. On February 20, 1857, Carmona became a municipality and in turn, sitio Maduya was relegated into a barrio.

Etymology
The term Maduya came from the word "Maruya", a fritter made from rice flour with sliced saba banana, fried, and consumed as merienda snacks. Most inhabitants can cook the snack and were peddled around the town attracting customers by shouting "Maruya". Eventually, the vendors were shouting "Maduya", which became the name of the barrio.<ref>"Pinagmulan ng Pangalang ng Bayan at mga Baryo".
