Karina Lombard (born January 21, 1969) is a French-American

Karina Lombard (born January 21, 1969) is a French-American actress, screenwriter and director. She is known for memorable roles in both film and television and has costarred opposite some of the biggest box office stars in the world.

From “Wide Sargasso Sea”, “The Firm” with Tom Cruise, to co-starring opposite Brad Pitt in “Legends of the Fall” and more, to “The L Word.”“NCIS,” CSI: “Rescue Me” “The 4400’s.”. She recently played historical Shawnee Chief Nonhelema in “Timeless”.

When not acting, Lombard pursues her interest in empirical well being and gives classes: called T.A.O.S “The Art Of Shapeshifting” on how to connect with one’s body and the infinite intelligence of the Universe while creating a harmonious synergy within the emotional and physical form in order to improve one’s life and enjoy consciousness.

Early life

Karina Lombard was born in Tahiti, is the youngest of five children. Her mother is a Sioux-Lakota, Native American and her father is of Swiss-Russian and Italian descent. She was raised in Spain, Switzerland and Peru. She spent her early childhood living throughout Europe and was educated in some of the finest schools. Lombard is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, French and German. She currently resides in Venice, California.

Career

Lombard's major break in modeling was a Calvin Klein photo shoot with a Native American theme. One of her photographs was chosen for a billboard. Photographs of her as a model appeared in Elle and Vogue.[1]

She studied acting in New York City, where she also gained stage experience. She studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and the Actors Studio, and performed also at New York City's Gallery Theatre and the Neighborhood Playhouse.

Lombard's first film role was as a princess in L'île (The Island).[1] She played her first major role as Antoinette Cosway, a Jamaican heiress, in Wide Sargasso Sea in 1993, based on the novel of the same name by Jean Rhys. She had a supporting part that year in The Firm.

Lombard appeared in the 1994 film Legends of the Fall, based on the novel by Jim Harrison. She starred in Last Man Standing with Bruce Willis in 1996.[1]

In the 2000s Lombard moved into television, appearing in The 4400 and on the first season of The L Word, as restaurateur Marina Ferrer. She portrayed the recurring character Geneviève on FX's Rescue Me. In November 2016, Lombard portrayed Shawnee chief Nonhelema in the episode "Stranded" of the NBC TV series Timeless.[2]
