Revision as of 02:17, 19 December 2006

I am an alumnus of Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota where I graduated summa cum laude with a religion major and an art studio minor in May 2005. I currently work as Technical Web Coordinator for the college where I develop web applications using Macromedia ColdFusion and Microsoft SQL.

In my spare time, I like to maintain a daily photoblog called shifting pixel.

Thesis

My thesis is titled "Total Kenosis, True Shunyata, and the Plerotic Self of Thomas Merton and Abe Masao". It incorporates concepts from Zen, Meister Eckhart, Christian mysticism, existentialism, Soren Kierkegaard, Friedrich Nietzsche, and nihilism. If that sounds interesting to you, you can read my thesis in PDF format. A copy of my thesis is held in the collections at the Thomas Merton Center at Bellarmine University.

An article based on my thesis was selected for the Albert Clark award for best undergraduate essay by Theta Alpha Kappa, the national honorary society for Religious Studies/Theology. It will be published in the Journal of Theta Alpha Kappa.
