Altai Kai (АлтайКАЙ) is an Altai folk band from the Altai Republic of the Russian Federation, founded by Urmat Yntaev in 1997. At the establishment, band consisted of two female and five male members. Current members include Yntaev and three male with one or two floating member on limited basis. Their music features throat singing, known as kai in Altaic language, and several native musical instruments, such as komuz and topshur. The subject of their music is often the nature and history of Altai, and the heroism of its people.
