Hello, I am the user you responded to about the blockage. I believe he is a lurker by his own admission to self-publishing in the message he put on my talkpage. I will stay off my page for at least one hour as I don't want him to see what I currently saying to some of the users who graciously responded to my help msg. Thank you. WHAT THE FUCK

WHAT THE FUCK U R DOING? I MADE AN ARTICLE AND ALL U DO IS DELETE. YOU HAVE NO HEART. --SadDamMadDam 22:16, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Charming. It's so heartwarming to have my work acknowledged. GhostPirate 21:27, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Delete?

Why was Robynn Ragland tagged for speedy deletion? In the template, it indicates Unremarkable people, groups, companies and web content. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject. But the article itself already included such an assertation at the time you added the tag? Robynn Ragland is a singer and songwriter, based primarily in the American midwest. Her work has appeared on soundtracks for television shows such as Dawson's Creek, MTV's The Real World, Wonderfalls, Wolf Lake, and many others seems like a pretty good indication this is more than just a vanity page. Anyhow, I'm going to keep massaging that article, and hopefully, whip it in to wiki shape, but if you are so inclined, I think the Speedy Delete tag can and should be removed. Thanks! Jenolen speak it! 21:27, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think the artist meets about four of those... especially the international touring. And her regional success in the Midwest -- combined with the national reach of her songs on all those TV shows -- easily makes her "notable" enough. No hard feelings, here, either. I was just surprised at the speed that the delete tag appeared. (I'm an editor who saves as he goes... Save, tweak, save, tweak, save, tweak... I don't want to lose a whole bunch of work thanks to Bill Gates inability to create a stable operating system and browser combo.)  :) Thanks, Jenolen speak it! 21:40, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lil Bush

This is not reposted content. I just had an exchange with the most recent deleter and protector http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Can't_sleep,_clown_will_eat_me.

The exchange is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Can%27t_sleep%2C_clown_will_eat_me#Lil.27_Bush_page

The material is well documented, but the article is a stub. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Aosxseedx (talkcontribs) 17:29, 6 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Speedy Delete?

You have set my page for SPEEDY DELETE for being nonsensical. I believe this to be highly insensitive to sufferers of Seagal Choditis, many of whom I have met. This includes my wife, Paula who was diagnosed five years ago, since when I have been attempting to raise awareness for this harrowing disease.

Furthermore, it would seem as though YOUR page does in fact meet the criteria for speedy delete itself as it is unquestionably "Inflamatory" given the insensitive prejudices you have shown. Just because you have not heard of the subject which my page tackles, I should not be punished for your ignorance.— Preceding unsigned comment added by CDuck2 (talkcontribs)

Quit screwing around, or you'll get banned. GhostPirate 20:24, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Now who's mature? All I am trying to do is raise awareness and help my wife while you are on a mission to halt my sincere efforts to do good for my community. All you can come up with is "Stop screwing around". I am deeply insulted by this put down of my benevolence. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CDuck2 (talkcontribs)

Alright, lets make a deal. If you can prove to me, through some reliable source (An outside medical website, not Wikipedia), that this disease exists and Stephen Seagal had it, I will fully apologize and remove anything bad I said about you or your article. GhostPirate 20:39, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, fine, i was just messing around...but hey! He has the BIGGEST HEAD I HAVE EVER SEEN, and I admire his ability...to standup straight! Check it out for yourself: http://www.superiorpics.com/hs/steven_seagal/main1.jpg

Anyway, you claim to be a libertarian, which employs a political philosophy maintaining that every person is the absolute owner of his or her own life and should be free to do whatever he wishes with his person or property. By attempting to delete my page, you gone against your own libertarian philosophies...raped!!— Preceding unsigned comment added by CDuck2 (talkcontribs)

Just don't do anything like it again. It can get Wikipedia in trouble, remember the John Seigenthaler Sr. Wikipedia biography controversy? Anyway, this will probably also make other editors trust you less when you do things in the future. So long. GhostPirate 21:06, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article you just wikified, Dj Disco Wiz, may have been deleted earlier today

Hello, this article Dj Disco Wiz is on my Watchlist because it read like a major vanity piece with mostly myspace references. It had been marked for speedy deletion today and disappeared. Now, out of the blue, the person who it is about, recreated it. Can you check what went on with this article somehow? Ronbo76 22:22, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was the editor who proposed it for deletion. Would you mind concurring or marking it for speedy deletion? Thanks, Ronbo76 22:27, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I like reading the Wiki and hate when I come across obvious self-published stuff that is over-inflated. Ronbo76 22:33, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're not the only one. I've tagged so many articles like that for deletion that I've lost count. GhostPirate 22:35, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This message is for Ronbo76 and friends. I have noticed that you and your friends have been nominating my page for deletion. I am not sure what your reasons are for these actions. I am mentioned in Wikipedia in several places, including Grand Master Caz, Hip-Hop History, Latin Hip-Hop and felt that I should have my own page. If you had done any reseach you would have found out who I am. You are obviouly not doing your job, if in fact it is your job. I hope that this will be the last time I have to contact you. The next time you interrupt my page, I will personally report you to Wikipedia and my lawyers for slander and defamation of character. If you do not know your history you have no business writing or editing for any historical facts. History has written who I am, not me. So, learn your history and leave me alone! -Dj Disco Wiz

New Page Patrol

Hi, GhostPirate! I gather that you're pretty new to the whole New Page Patrol thing. It can be a pretty daunting experience--I've heard one admin refer to it as the "firehose of crap". Here are a few tips:

  1. When using templated messages on users' talk pages, be sure to preference them with subst: (e.g., {{subst:test2article}}). This will transclude the warning onto the page instead of linking back to the warning. (It's helpful for when the warning gets changed and to conserve system resources.)
  2. Try not to feed the trolls; telling someone to knock it off or they'll get banned isn't helpful. (Nor is it accurate: there is a difference in the Wiki community between a block and a ban.) The best way is to stick to templated messages and if a user doesn't like it, have him or her go to deletion review or contact the administrator who deleted the page.

Anyway, let me know if you have any questions! As a NPP veteran, my other piece of advice is to spend time doing something else: having a multitude of projects really lessens the stress of dealing with page after page about some fifteen year old's band that he made up in math class. Cheers! -- Merope 17:05, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
