KLGO is Austin and central Texas' first Christian Teaching and Talk radio station. KLGO is known as The WORD 99.3 and 98.5. It began broadcasting in its new FM home on January 20, 2006 after operating for 30 years on the AM band as KIXL 970.

The WORD 99.3 and 98.5 is also known through its call letters as KLGO and features an outstanding lineup of the very best from today's Christian communicators like Chuck Swindoll, Dr. James Dobson, Dave Ramsey, Hank Hanegraaff and many more. The WORD 99.3 is committed to a Christian worldview in all its programming.

The call letters KLGO are very significant. The Great Commandment passage in Matthew 22:36-40 exhorts us to Keep Loving God and Others.

As an AM radio station it was cited by the National Religious Broadcasters twice with national recognition as Radio Station of the Year and Morning Show of the Year.

In June of 2006, The WORD 99.3 added a second signal to further serve the Austin and central Texas community with the addition of the 98.5 FM signal.
