Halkawt Zaher Halkawt Zaher was born 1972 in the city of Suleymania in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq He graduated from the institute of fine arts and continued to study music in German music institutions.
He is a well known composer and he has previously worked as consultant for cultural affairs to the Prime minister of Kurdistan.
He is very well known through his work and compositions.
He has composed numerous songs for the majority of the Kurdish artists.
Besides working with Kurdish artists, he has worked with many other artists from various countries such as Iraqi and Syrian arabic singers.
Many New and upcoming artists have climbed to fame and fortune through his guidance and support. As a producer, he has helped launch the artistic careers of artists such as : Delnia Razazi, Baxan, Mera Ali, Loka Zahir , Dina , Dashni Morad ,Nasli, Halder, Nilisa, Harim Mohamad , Ararat, Ammar, alkoofe Adnan Teymur - Hawkar Sabr - Idris Salih - Basher Azad- Mustafa Kurdi Rebin , Mahamad Faesal - Mevan Hakim - Kaka Arsalan Anahid Ardalan - -. yasir - Ashir ,Shanya ,Najla Faili , Sultan Samari - Etc.
He has done lots of songs for previously established singers such as Marzie Fariqi, Leila Fariqi, Naser Razazi, Mikael, Chopi Fatah, Jamshid, Dana Ghani, Shirin Perwer, Abdulqahar Zaxoli, Ayoub Ali, Paywand Jaff Etc.
All of Halkawt Zaher's productions has been under supervision and in consultation with the well experiienced producer Mr. Kawa Sheikh. Halkawt has composed many songs for famous Arabic singers such as Mayada El Hennawy , Samira Saeid, Soad Housni, Ali Al Hajar, Diana Karazon, Nisreen Hmaydan , Nadia Manfoukh, Hassna Matar, Elize Farah, Noura Rahal, Narmin Shoqi Etc.
Halkawt has composed many soundtracks for television series and movies, documentaries and theme music for television stations. Ha has received many awards by various Arabic and Kurdish institutions. He has used poems from many famous Arabic poets such as: Mohamad mehdi al jawaheri, Mahmoud darwish, Karim al iraqi, Zia al miali, Rami aboudi Etc.
Halkawt has worked with various music arrangers such as: Yahya al mougi, Yaldan urguzal, Hemin husein, Farshad rostami Etc.
Halkawt has been awarded the Aro Istanbul award for best music of year 2012. He has been involved in productions for well-known public figures and politicians such as: Mustafa Barzani, Idris Barzani, Masoud Barzani, Qazi Mohammad, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan , Sheikh Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud .
This in addition to some productions about the islamic holy religious figures such as: The Prophet Muhammad, Ali Ibn Abi Talib and Said Nursî All Halkawt's religious and patriotic songs are performed by Mera Ali
