Lovejoy (abbreviated as LVJY) is an English indie rock band that was formed in Brighton in 2021. The band members consists of Will Gold as the lead vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist, Joe Goldsmith as the guitarist and songwriter, Mark Boardman as the drummer, and Ash Kabosu as the bassist.
Lovejoy debuted on 9 May 2021, with the release of their extended play Are You Alright?.
History
Formation
Lovejoy was formed in late 2020/early 2021 in Brighton, England.
2021–present
Lovejoy was first teased by Gold on a Twitch stream in April 2021, where he showed a very early preview of their song "One Day". They released their debut EP Are You Alright? on 9 May 2021 along with the music video for "One Day".[1] The following day they released the music video for the song "Taunt", featuring Minecraft YouTuber GeorgeNotFound.[2] On 20 May 2021, they debuted on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart at number 10.[3]
Lovejoy is expected to release an album later in 2021.
