You guys- feel free to add stuff. I'm not in charge, I just started it. ;) andrew 09:30, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Question

For all the Degrassi related pages, do I put the wikiproject link in it?

Dammit...

I was thinking of creating the exact same WikiProject... then I found out I'm too late, by about half a month. Oh well. hehe :D -→Buchanan-Hermit/?! 19:53, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's alright. We need to do a bit of promotion to get more members. andrew 05:35, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm interested in helping out—although I don't have any experience in WikiProjects. Zoë 07:08, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I wanna join too. TPREX 01:54, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added your names to the list, since you both said you wanted to join. I hope that's okay.--andrewI20Talk 05:45, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks alot TPREX 02:11, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Portal

I was thinking, that in the future, if we have enough members, and guides and whatnot, that we could have a Degrassi Portal. Any comments? andrew 09:30, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Project Directory

Hello. The WikiProject Council is currently in the process of developing a master directory of the existing WikiProjects to replace and update the existing Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory. These WikiProjects are of vital importance in helping wikipedia achieve its goal of becoming truly encyclopedic. Please review the following pages:

and make any changes to the entries for your project that you see fit. There is also a directory of portals, at User:B2T2/Portal, listing all the existing portals. Feel free to add any of them to the portals or comments section of your entries in the directory. The three columns regarding assessment, peer review, and collaboration are included in the directory for both the use of the projects themselves and for that of others. Having such departments will allow a project to more quickly and easily identify its most important articles and its articles in greatest need of improvement. If you have not already done so, please consider whether your project would benefit from having departments which deal in these matters. It is my hope to have the existing directory replaced by the updated and corrected version of the directory above by November 1. Please feel free to make any changes you see fit to the entries for your project before then. If you should have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you. B2T2 21:58, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry if you tried to update it before, and the corrections were gone. I have now moved the new draft in the old directory pages, so the links should work better. My apologies for any confusion this may have caused you. 207.160.66.129 13:40, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Day Awards

Hello, all. It was initially my hope to try to have this done as part of Esperanza's proposal for an appreciation week to end on Wikipedia Day, January 15. However, several people have once again proposed the entirety of Esperanza for deletion, so that might not work. It was the intention of the Appreciation Week proposal to set aside a given time when the various individuals who have made significant, valuable contributions to the encyclopedia would be recognized and honored. I believe that, with some effort, this could still be done. My proposal is to, with luck, try to organize the various WikiProjects and other entities of wikipedia to take part in a larger celebrartion of its contributors to take place in January, probably beginning January 15, 2007. I have created yet another new subpage for myself (a weakness of mine, I'm afraid) at User talk:Badbilltucker/Appreciation Week where I would greatly appreciate any indications from the members of this project as to whether and how they might be willing and/or able to assist in recognizing the contributions of our editors. Thank you for your attention. Badbilltucker 16:21, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

List of issues

I started creating a list of issues in Degrassi TNG here. I've done everything up to the end of season 4; but before I go any further, do you guys think a list like this is useful for Wikipedia? -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 08:52, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't bother me. Some of the issues they covered were considered by some "controversial" and may be notable. If someone else doesn't think it's proper for wikipedia, they can always nominate it for Afd, and then it can be decided then. You're not hurting anyone by trying. Of course, it's a bit biased for us to properly decide it's notability, since we're involved. I looked over your test article, and it looks great. --theblueflamingoSpeak 02:22, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's a good idea. It would relieve some strain from the main article page (a bit congested from attempting to list all the issues) and could be linked easily from the front page and degrassi template. Oh and remember to add spoiler alerts. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.229.220.235 (talk) 01:05, 15 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

List of issues addressed in Degrassi: The Next Generation now exists, after weeks of work and re-watching/re-skimming of every Degrassi TNG episode to date. I'm pooped. But at least now the header for the TNG article won't have 5-8 lines just listing the issues addressed on the show. :) -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 08:54, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redundant character articles.

OK, I forget where exactly I saw this recently, but I do remember that it was a comment by an unregistered user. Anyway, they made a valid point: some of the character articles, as is, are rather redundant. Events are often described on the article for each character involved. Perhaps we can revisit the goal of creating episode articles; or even something to the tune of "Degrassi: The Next Generation episodes, Season x" wherein detailed summaries exist for each episode of Season x. What I'd worry about though is where character biographies would be left if the events were (re)moved from them. Thoughts? --TS1 23:40, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, since all the Buffy the Vampire episodes have articles, and they're no more notable than Degrassi, I think it would be okay if we made episode articles. If we did, we would have to keep working on them. Not just create them, and forget. I think we need a better template for Degrassi article talk pages (ratings, and importance scale). So far, this wikiproject has been really...slow, so to speak. Nice to see this finally pick up again.--theblueflamingoSpeak 05:11, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Me

Ok I'll be glad to join and contribute but I don't have an account and won't be creating one due to personal reasons. Anyways, if you see a couple edits by a random IP, it's most likely me as my IP changes.

If you have any image requests relating to the show, I will be willing to provide screenshots. It's much easier if you give me the specifics (such as episode... or time frame is possible). Just make a request here or something and I'll try to respond to it. As I'm not a member and cannot upload images, if a request is made, I'll simply just upload it to imageshack and relink it back here to ensure a smooth transition of the picture. My collection extends from the first season to the current one however, the quality in the fifth season is lacking.

I'll try my best to edit all aspects of The Degrassi Universe but I most likely may be busy and will not be able to fulfill requests/do page edits and additions until some time is made available.

Some major areas of focus:

  • Degrassi Community School only a stub, needs a LOT of work and copy editing as there is a lot of information which can be added.
  • Refix the degrassi template. I've added characters in accordance to the order of appearance in the credits/the order of addition to the cast and changed the title colour to coincide with the Degrassi colours for illustrative and descriptive purposes. Anyway, there needs to be two columns, as seen in the buffyverse template.
  • There are some splits (major characters from minor) and merges (kevin smith piece in Degrassi Series article to the Degrassi: TNG article) which are in need of attention.
I'll try to contribute as much as possible. Oh and by the way, I've only seen up to Season 3 so far... so I don't think I'll be able to provide much information to anything after mid-season 3 but I'll be more than capable to extend the information prior to then.

Page Pictures

Ok for each individual series, i think that the procedure is that the image should be the logo. So for Degrassi TNG could somebody put that up there instead? And maybe for the main series article (Degrassi) we could actually have the pictures of the various people from the different series (like the one used for the Degrassi TNG article now) or something. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.229.225.212 (talk) 13:18, 15 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Character categories

Should we split Category:Degrassi characters into separate ones, for the different Degrassi series? -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 04:32, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yea, I suppose. Right now, it seems predominately DTNG characters, but that's because some character articles from the old series need to be categorized.--theblueflamingoSpeak 05:49, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, in that case, let's wait until we have more Degrassi Junior High characters until splitting the categories. -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 09:10, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Character Articles Manual of Style

I think we should have a Maunual of Style for our Degrassi character articles. There are only 9 Good articles on fictional characters (James Bond, Darth Vader, Donut (Red vs. Blue), Pauline Fowler, Max Rebo Band, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Sarlacc, Homer Simpson,Storm). I also want to mention the Buffy Summers article, which isn't classified as good, but it's probably about B-Class on the wiki asssesment scale. Maybe if we took some ideas from their articles are come up with a style which we use on the Degrassi Characters article, the quality of those articles could greatly improve. Some facts should be included is a bio of character, impact, and other good details for a good article. --theblueflamingoSpeak 05:49, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article Assessment

I changed the talk page template a bit, and now we have a assessment scale. I decided to leave the importance one out. So, from now on, feel free to assess an article or two when you get the chance. I did a few for now. --theblueflamingoSpeak 06:21, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I posted a question on the template's talkpage regarding a possible additional entry specifying which Degrassi show the article is about. -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 08:52, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And I also agree with you leaving the "importance" element out. Personally, I've never found that attribute particularly helpful. -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 09:12, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure if you're aware, but Degrassi's 40 Go There-ist Moments on The-N has been deleted before after an AfD debate (found here. The old version had the entire 40 moments listed, but was determined to be too fan-crufty to be a Wikipedia article, hence the deletion. Perhaps this should me merged into another article altogether, because I can see the reasons why it was too fan crufty and has a high chance of being re-deleted. -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 00:09, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I thought that got cancelled. Honestly, I'm not sure if that's really notable for wikipedia. I'm sure whoever created the 2nd one had no clue about the first one. Maybe we could do a Degrassi specials article, about the special Degrassi events (like every episode marathon ever, 40 most go there-est), but I doubt even that's even notable. If the article is fixed up a bit, it might be able to pass an afd. --theblueflamingoSpeak 00:27, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I found the article when I was browsing The N's wikipedia page and I just linked it from the Degrassi template hoping it to be expanded later. I didn't know about the previous discussion. I suggest that we either make it more acceptable by wikipedia standards, or delete it and have it as a article stub, on another page (i think thats the right terminology). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Xallium (talkcontribs) 13:54, 19 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

The Mall

You think we should make a mall article? Though we don't even know its name, its been featured in countless episodes and we could list the retail outlets in it. Or something like that
