Just to curiosity

What do you take into account when analysing a rollback request? Dr Salvus 16:36, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Dr Salvus: A variety of factors go into reviewing PERM requests. Overall edit count and the age of the account are the most immediate things I check. If they're too new or don't edit often I'm more inclined to decline, but simply being here for a short period does not exclude someone if they're consistently showing that they're capable. This also relates to people that take extended wikibreaks. I then check their most recent batch of undos and edits with whatever automated tools they may use, usually those in the past 2 months or the last fifty edits, whatever is less. If I see glaring issues in those I look deeper in, but typically if there are multiple recent mistakes, like reverting good faith edits without an edit summary or edit warring in any form I'm erring on the side of declining it. Outside of their contributions, I check block logs and the last couple of months of talk page archives to make sure I haven't missed anything as well as their recently declined requests for that permission (if there are any). Hat collection immediately puts prejudice on the request.
However, with all this said, it just comes down to a simple question: do I trust this user? If I've still got doubts, I decline or ping them for clarification. I rarely give trial periods because I consider them to be a complete waste of time with basic permissions like PCR and RB. If I trust someone to use it for a month, I trust them to use it. Sometimes I give it out for a month out when they tend to edit in contentious topics or areas that don't see "obvious" vandalism in the sense of what rollback is intended for (i.e. I can't look at the edits and go "yep, that's vandalism" because they require a deeper understanding of the topic). When they request an extension, it becomes easier to see how they would use it in their area of work. Trial periods are much more useful for PM or NPR requests.
All admins have their own criteria. That is what I use. Hope it helps. Anarchyte (talk) 08:24, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I understand now. I had applied precisely because not all sysops have the same criteria and I was hoping to be evaluated by one with less stringent criteria. When I was promoted to reviewer I thought that the next rollbacker request would be a success. I waited a few days to avoid MusikBot writing that I had X rejected requests. I promise that I won't apply for rollbacker until November
I have two questions:
  1. What do I have to do to prove that I understood from those mistakes?
  2. What do I have to do to get 2021-22 Juventus F.C. (women) season moved to manispace
Dr Salvus 11:30, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Dr Salvus: For question one, you need to stop asking everyone about getting rollback permissions. No one likes being pestered and admin shopping doesn't help. For question two, the draft is completely blank, except for basic templates. You need to expand it up to at least where its predecessors were when they were created. You made last year's article, surely you can see that the 2021-22 article pales in comparison? Anarchyte (talk) 11:41, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Is Draft:2021–22 Juventus F.C. (women) season ready for mainspace? Dr Salvus 15:29, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Dr Salvus: See WP:CRYSTAL. The page is entirely devoid of content. Anarchyte (talk) 15:33, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

just to curiosity: Did you want open a discussion in the WP:ANI about my hat-collecting? However it is not necessary ask a ban since I won't apply for any kind of permission until November and I when I'll be back I won't ask several times as I did in the last five months. Dr Salvus 11:53, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Dr Salvus: No need, given you've expressed that you're not going to request anything until November. Anarchyte (talk) 13:06, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Is hat-collecting apply for permission to use AWB? Dr Salvus 13:54, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request to send a hoax article to the hoax list

Hello! :) This is regarding the recently deleted article Mauser C6 (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mauser C6). You closed this discussion, and that's why I'm contacting you. Is there any way that you could add the article to Wikipedia:List of hoaxes on Wikipedia? The article existed since 2009 and I'm pretty sure it was a hoax article. Wizzito (talk) 23:21, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Wizzito: If you think it applies, go ahead. Anarchyte (talk) 11:34, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Anarchyte: Thanks, but to view the history of the article to see when it was created (I remember the year, 2009, but not the date) I need the help of an admin. Wizzito (talk) 17:40, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Wizzito: It is now available at User:Wizzito/Mauser C6. Anarchyte (talk) 05:41, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Zarzilla Wiki Help

Hi,

My attempt to write a wiki page for indie game dev Zarzilla has been rejected. Could you offer more specific assistance? The only sources available are the companies own website and listings on Google/App store. Could it be written in a certain way to use these sources? I understand that it can be written in less of a promotional fashion though.

Regards, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Treuberg1 (talkcontribs) 10:42, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Treuberg1: If there are no reliable sources available, I'm afraid the topic isn't notable and isn't eligible for inclusion on the site. Anarchyte (talk) 11:36, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request for a copy of a deleted article

Hello Anarchyte! Sorry to ask another favor of you, but I have been curious about the possibility of making an article for the Japanese voice actor Yūsuke Shirai, when I noticed he had an article at one point that was deleted via prod. If it is not too much to ask, could you restore the article as a draft or give me a copy of the text? It will probably need cleaning since it was prodded, but I am willing to clean it up. Thanks in advance! Link20XX (talk) 01:01, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Link20XX:  Done - now available at Draft:Yūsuke Shirai. Anarchyte (talk) 05:44, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Denied PERM request

Hi,

You denied my Pending changes reviewer request with the note "4 undos this year."

I don't quite understand what that means. Is it about the amount, or was it about their quality?

Thank you for your time and attention! --Karlshammar (talk) 02:21, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Karlshammar: PCR is all about counter-vandalism. Having a reliable track record of undos is important. Four is not enough. Anarchyte (talk) 07:18, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Thanks for the explanation! How many would you usually need to be considered? --Karlshammar (talk) 12:06, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I usually hope for at least 50 recent (~2 months) reverts. Anarchyte (talk) 12:34, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Gotcha, thanks again for explaining! :) --Karlshammar (talk) 14:55, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Rajasthan United Fc Page deletion review

Hey, I'm writing about a page of football club in india, you deleted saying no proofs this exists. as now i'm sending you some links where you can see news about this club. so please see these sources and look if you can review your actions and reverse that.

i'm enclosing link of previous chat we had:

User talk:Athaenara/Archive 15#Deletion of Rajasthan United FC. Anarchyte (talk · contribs)

the link of the page is Rajasthan United FC

As this club now has well established presence, i managed to get some reference links if you look these and review your decision.

links are as follows:

Thank You Vplpoonia (talk) 14:19, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Vplpoonia: Make a draft. There's no chance I'm restoring a page that said "with a motive to provide footballing culture for everyone and turning their dreams into a professional level". Anarchyte (talk) 16:53, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry if there was anything like that. If you restore i can assure you that i will update that. Vplpoonia (talk) 17:50, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Vplpoonia: I'd prefer it if you ran it through the WP:AFC procedure starting from scratch. We don't restore promotional articles. Anarchyte (talk) 08:08, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Draft:Rajasthan United FC
I have created this article. you can go through and let me know if any update required
thank you Vplpoonia (talk) 13:38, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Vplpoonia: Do you have a conflict of interest? It's still incredibly promotional: The club aims to provide a pathway of progressive growth from the grassroots level to competing at the highest professional level. We believe that Indian Football Standards are rising and we aim at contributing towards it and making of professional players who will go on to represent the country at the highest level. Also, Instagram and Wikipedia are not reliable sources. I've added the article to the AFC system so that you can get additional feedback as you go from other editors. Wrongful Page Deletion

@Anarchyte: :

Hi there, you deleted the page Mansi Surve , much more content to be added, I have a lot of printed newspaper articles on Mansi Surve, how should I cite them? There is no E-paper for the same or any data online. Should I upload photos of printed materials?

Second, if you to this website and search in text box of last name - Surve , you will see Mansi Surve is Category 4 rhythmic Gymnastic International Judge, how to cite this filter? Possible to add screenshot? If not, what's the alternative? --Cyanex (talk) 15:05, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Cyanex: It's not deleted, GermanKity moved it to Draft:Mansi Surve. Anarchyte (talk) 15:09, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi User:Cyanex, Yes i moved your article into the draft. I would suggest you to rewrite the draft as per WP:NPOV and provide more WP:SIGCOV on WP:RS and submit it for review. Other editors will review and move back into the main-space, if it follows all Wiki Guidelines. Happy editing. GermanKity (talk) 08:30, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 21:07:55, 7 June 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by TheGremlin

Thank you for reviewing the article. I was following the format examples of Asetek and Corsair company articles which did not use prose either, so I'd like to understand why those company pages do not need to use prose yet this one does. Thank you kindly

Request on 23:58:11, 7 June 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by TheGremlin

Furthermore, when reviewing Asetek articles 27 references, more than half do not meet Wikipedia’s requirements: 12 are to Asetek's website & 1 is their annual report (48%), the 1 Slashdot reference is to a forum thread, the Kitguru link is to a Corsair article that only mentions them once, as is the Gigabyte link, and neither of Bloomberg links have Asetek content. At all. 66% of the references do not meet wikipedia guidelines.

Only 3 are to Tech Report, 2 to Gamernexus, 2 I added before are legit and another 2 are the same as I've referenced for the CoolIT company. only 9 references (only 1/3) meet wikipedia guidelines.

Therefore, wikipedia only requires 9 references for the CoolIT article to qualify, and there are far more than that.

So based on wikipedia’s standards, if the CoolIT article does not qualify, neither does Asetek.

From the standard you based your decision on it must be “written in prose”, neither Corsair & Asetek qualify, and need to be redone.

iwanturCAT (talk) 23:58, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@TheGremlin: I've made no comment on the companies notability, and if any of those awards are real then they likely pass WP:GNG. However, the draft system is designed to allow for incomplete articles that don't meet our standards to be worked on instead of being deleted. As it stands, regardless of the state of other articles, this does not reach a standard of writing that I would be comfortable moving to mainspace for the whole world to see. Anarchyte (talk) 04:03, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Anarchyte:

I was provided a better example than I had been using and have tried to change the article from chronological factual to more of a story format to better align with prose. Thank you for the feedback on this.

(I'll try and put this comment in the talk page but the talk page format is not user friendly/intuitive).

Another request for a copy of a deleted article

Hello once again Anarchyte! I recently finished creating Yusuke Shirai from the article you restored for me. As you probably guessed, I want another article restored that was deleted via a prod. The article in question is the article at Zeno Robinson that was deleted via a prod in 2017. Can you restore it to User:Link20XX/Zeno Robinson please? Thanks in advance! Link20XX (talk) 03:30, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Link20XX: Done. There were a few other revisions but they weren't worth saving. Anarchyte (talk) 03:51, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request for rollback again

Once again, Hello! You are probably tired of me asking you for various things, so I will get straight to the point. A month ago you granted me a 1-month trial of Rollback. It expired today, and I have decided I would like to request to have it back indefinitely. Link20XX (talk) 23:30, 14 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Link20XX: I'll be able to have a look some time this week. I'm a little busy at the moment. If you want a quicker response, apply at WP:PERMS/RB. Anarchyte (talk) 04:02, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, will do. Hope everything goes well for you! Link20XX (talk) 04:04, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

MOHAMMAD BIJEH

On this page, he has written the duration of the crimes since March 2003. In Iranian and foreign articles, the duration of the crimes has been set at six months, and the date of birth should be February 7, 1981, but some people return the content. Please include it on the Wikipedia page. سهراب بارسایی (talk) 19:18, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@سهراب بارسایی: You have to provide a source that verifies your claim, otherwise we cannot include it. Anarchyte (talk) 06:52, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The page was locked, but no source says it was born in 1982. This was a vandalism of some people before. سهراب بارسایی (talk) 11:33, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Article has not approved yet.

I had created article for Shanta Nepali, a filmmaker 1 months ago, but still it is not approved. What is the region behind that. Please update me, when will it be approved. Aashish2021 (talk) 10:58, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Aashish2021: It won't be approved. It was a copyright violation, which is against our rules. Anarchyte (talk) 12:05, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Anarchyte, Namaste! Thank you for your quick response. I got the verified contents from the OWNER , so i had created the article. Sorry for the violating the rules. What can I do for the approval? Shall I create new one? It is pride important. Please help me. Thank you. Aashish2021 (talk) 15:43, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting Revision history

Hi

Can you remove the revision history on a Wiki page? I have recently updated an article about a hotel that is said to be haunted. Having done so, I came to realize that this cannot be backed with facts as it is just stories told. I deleted my notes, they aren't there on the current article. However, they do remain in the history and I can't delete this.
