Thank you, versacespace. I understand the explanation just fine, and I agree that although the organization is quite notable, its media coverage is rather poor. I will either find suitable evidence in enough quantity, or turn the article into a section underneath the AO Foundation existing article. Cheers ! Ferkijel (talk) 10:21, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ferkijel is an awesome science editor

French Frog thanks you! Martine. 21:31, 31 March 2021 (UTC) Bonjour {{reply to|Ferkijel}, whew! Thanks very much! It looks great! Can you tell me specifically what changes you need on your page. If you can lay it out, the way I did for Bowick, then I can make those changes. Bon weekend! I saw you noticed the FRIB page. Not quite the same as the LHC in der Schweiz, but still pretty awesome. I see you have my three main languages too, English, German, Spanish. Thanks for your improvements. Youngnoah (talk) 22:39, 22 May 2021 (UTC) Youngnoah[reply]

Follow-up: Will Hatton article

Hey Ferkjl. Thanks again for answering my questions concerning the Will Hatton article. Wanted to follow up on something semi-related here.

When creating a new article, what would be the best course of action: creating a stub or writing it in the sandbox and submitting from there? Or are these both pretty much the same? Is there another and better way to go about this? Apologies for bombarding you with questions. I think I can add a lot to WP but want to do it right you know!

Cheers, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Roamingralph (talkcontribs) 14:09, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Roamingralph: I think you’d have a hard time finding a Wikipedia Editor who isn't happy to help others. Feel free to ask as much as you want. :) Since you’re new, it’s best that you get some help preparing your first article. The Sandbox is great to work on the format, sections, etc. Once you’re completely happy with your knowledge of the text editor (after playing to your heart’s content in your Sandbox), you should use the AfC (Articles for Creation) Wizard, which will create an article draft for you. You can even copy paste the article from your Sandbox into the AfC Wizard. You can edit it, save it a million times, and come back to it later. You can also have other editors take a look at it for you, and give you tips. It’ll be a draft, so it won’t be sitting in the main namespace, which means people won’t be able to accidentally find it.
To help you get started, you’ll find valuable info in WP:AFC. The devil’s in the “details”, and the Wikipedia Guidelines are particularly strict when it comes to the topic of Notability. So WP:IS and WP:RS are of paramount importance. If all of this doesn’t put you off, you may want to take a quick look at the Manual of Style.
Finally, don’t get discouraged. Like everyplace else, there’s great people (the overwhelming majority of editors), and less than awesome people. Take other editors’ suggestions in the spirit in which they’re probably meant, which per WP:AGF should be “in good faith”.  :) Ferkjl (talk) 16:27, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Ferkjl: Wow that was an awesome explanation! Way better than any other online source I found. Sounds like the key is really finding the right sources, which I shouldn't be surprised about - I did plenty of source finding back in my college days. One issue might be defining what a reliable source is, at least in regards to online source. There's just so much information on the internet. I'm guessing one of those wiki articles you shared with me will shed some more light.
Going back to the original article I wrote, would you say that the biggest issue was unproven notability, or did my poor attempt at publishing cause problems as well? Wondering because the former I might be able to amend with extra effort but the latter would probably require me starting over from scratch. Roamingralph (talk) 14:44, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Photo DoC Submitted

Hi Ferkjl, The DoC for the image update to the page for Julie Ledgerwood was submitted. Any chance the revision can now be made? Thanks! Flower231 (talk) 16:47, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Flower231: Hi Flower. You can now use the Wikimedia Commons upload wizard to submit the file for upload. I have not seen the DoC, so I don’t know the specific license under which the author has released the photograph, therefore I cannot advice you exactly on how to fill in the Wizard, but you should have all the information you need in the consent document. The Wizard is very user-friendly, so you only need to follow the on-screen instructions. I hope you can easily manage, otherwise feel free to let me know. I’ll be more than happy to edit the article to feature the new image. Ferkjl (talk) 17:20, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ferkjl, I would REALLY appreciate your help in editing the pg and revising to the current photo, which is loaded into Wiki commons (Julie Ledgerwood.jpg) but i'm not sure how to resubmit the 'request for edit' with the same change. Thanks again so much! Flower231 (talk) 17:42, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Flower231: No worries, it’s done. Ferkjl (talk) 19:03, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ferkjl! Thank you so much! The page looks great! I really appreciate your help. Flower231 (talk) 20:37, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Shifting VRC bldg photo to halfway down pg rather than at the top

Hi Ferkjl, I'm also working on the Vaccine Research Center pg. Thank you for including the picture of the building, but I wonder if you could move it to instead replace the picture of Dr. Nancy Sullivan about halfway down the pg, rather than below the logo. Since that box is close to the organization section, we thought the image of the bldg would be better suited to represent the scope of the Vaccine Research Center. Thank you! Flower231 (talk) 20:45, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Flower231:I’m not partial to removing content uploaded by other people, particularly when there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s quite common for organizations to feature the image of their headquarters in the InfoBox. But please, do put in the request in the Talk page of the main article, and see what other people think. I won’t argue against it. Ferkjl (talk) 20:49, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ferkjl, I just submitted two additional edit requests to the Vaccine Research Center pg. If you have a moment, could you check if I submitted them correctly as I used the edit request wizard. Thank you.

@Flower231: Hi Flower. I implemented an image gallery, with the photographs of presidents Obama, Trump, and Biden. The additional photograph shows depicts a person that isn't notable and doesn't have any reference in Wikipedia. For privacy reasons, it is generally adviced to exercise caution to feature living persons who are relatively unknown and not notable (see WP:LPNAME). I'd let someone else be the judge of that one additional photograph. Personally I wouldn't add it (the exception in the article being Dr. Sullivan, who is featured alongside President Obama). Ferkjl (talk) 06:21, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ferkjl, The gallery looks great. Thank you. I uploaded an additional Presidential image 017-BushW02032003a 72dpi.jpg and added an edit request to add it to the gallery. Hopefully it's possible to add it. Thanks again. Flower231 (talk) 18:08, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Flower231: Done. I’m not online all that much these last few weeks, I have some health issues, nothing serious but painful and I can’t sit much at the computer. Just do post to my talk page if you need some help with your COIs, as you’ve been doing here. Ferkjl (talk) 18:48, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Ferkjl: Ferkjl, thank you so much! I'm really appreciative of your time. I also revised the edit request to remove the image of Dr. Sullivan in the middle of the page and replace with Dr John Mascola.jpg , as that is the Vaccine Research Center Director, but I wasn't sure if I reworded it correctly. If you have a few moments to review, I'd really appreciate it. Flower231 (talk) 20:40, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I saw that @Flower231:, but I said before, Dr. Sullivan seems to be more publicly notable than Dr. Mascola, irrespective of the work hierarchy (given that Dr. Sullivan is featured in an article about her, while Dr. Mascola isn’t yet). As I mentioned in a previous reply, “it is generally adviced to exercise caution to feature living persons who are relatively unknown and not notable (see WP:LPNAME). I'd let someone else be the judge of that one additional photograph. Personally I wouldn't add it” until Dr. Mascola has his own article. Ferkjl (talk) 13:32, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Ferkjl: Thank you Ferkjl. I had misunderstood your previous note about this additional image. We've started working on Dr. Mascola's article and should have it ready shortly. Thank you again for the advice. I also added a final historical image, that of President Clinton at the dedication ceremony for the Center. I'm hoping it will fit in the gallery. Thanks again. Hope you're doing well. Flower231 (talk) 18:44, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Flower231: Someone beat me to it. Yeah, I have a jogging injury, and I’ll need hip surgery. Arthroscopy, I hope, so it shouldn’t be too bad. But sitting for long periods hurts, so I spend a lot less time in front of the computer lately. Nothing too bad, thanks. Ferkjl (talk) 06:32, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Following-up on Laureate Ed.

Hello again, Ferkjl. I noticed from your recent contributions that you have been less active on the site lately. Mindful of your time as a volunteer, I presume you have been busy! I just wanted to follow-up and see if you still have an interest in helping with my open request at the Laureate Education article talk page where you chimed in last week. In my last reply, I tried to fill in the blanks to the framework you suggested and provided sources. Due to my conflict of interest, I prefer to stay hands-off from updating the article myself to respect the site's rules. Would you be willing to take another look and see if it's an easy implementation you're willing to assist with? Thanks again for collaborating thus far. Cheers, PMV1111 (talk) 07:33, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@PMV1111: Sure, especially when it's so clearly prepared. Cheers ! Ferkjl (talk) 10:48, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! Thanks again for your ongoing help with the Laureate article. I wanted to ask if you're available to review my draft rewrite of the Corporate history section? I know you work on other articles, but if you have time you can find a link to the draft on Talk:Laureate Education. Any feedback on my proposed content changes would be wonderful. Many thanks, PMV1111 (talk) 23:31, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Francisco Partners follow-up

Hello, Ferkjl. I'm writing to notify you of another request for additional updates for the Francisco Partners article. If you're still willing to review requests, I ask that you consider these updates on my behalf. I do not wish to do so myself, due to my paid conflict of interest. Thanks again for your help.
