  • Comment: ERR is the public broadcaster, and AFAIK Postimees is the de facto newspaper of record, of Estonia. Sources don't come much more WP:RS than those. Whether two are enough to establish notability, and/or whether the 'sports biographical lexicon' is RS enough to provide a third source, I'll leave for others to judge.   • Comment: This draft needs verifiable sources of a far higher callibre before it can appear on mainspace. I doubt whether it will be easy to find those, though, because it seems like the subject is not top-ranking in his field, even if he did win a couple of Estonian championships - how tough is the competition in a draughts championship in Estonia? Villem Lüüs

Villem Lüüs (29 March 1971 – 12 November 2020) was an Estonian draughts player, World Draughts Federation master from Estonia.[1][2][3]

He graduated from Tallinn 1st Secondary School (nowadays Gustav Adolf Grammar School). After graduating he studied physics at Tartu University.[1]

He was a several times Estonian champion of Brazilian, English and International draughts.[1]

In 2000 he obtained the 6th place as a team with Urmo Ilves and Kaido Leesmann in draughts olympics.[1] In 2012 European championships of international draughts he achieved 44. place with 9 points.[citation needed] In 2017 World Draughts Championship he achieved 20. place with 8 points in group C.[citation needed] In 2018 European championships international draughts he achieved 34. place with 9 points in classic tournament and 32. place with 6 points in superblitz tournament.[citation needed] In 2020 he achieved 4th place at World Championships for Corresponding Draughts.[1]

He was also a draughts referee.[1] The direction of European Teams Championships 2019 in draughts was entrusted to Villem Lüüs, he was assisted by Alessio Mecca.[4]
