Please change "Dharmacakra" (the link on the image) to "Dharmachakra", to which it redirects. 84.63.144.36 (talk) 19:49, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Propose to add Devotion to practices

I propose to add devotion to the category of practices. Devotional practices are very fundamental and ubiquitous in Buddhist countries. Please note that this is a proposal, and not a semi-protected edit request.--Farang Rak Tham (talk) 15:16, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please change the hyperlink of the heading "Chinese" under the "Traditions" section from Chinese Buddhist canon to Chinese Buddhism. There's already a link to Chinese Buddhist canon in the template and changing the link to Chinese Buddhism is more accurate. TheCherryPanda (talk) 16:37, 16 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Birth Date of Buddha is not correct on Wikipedia page. The actual date of birth is 566 BCE and the actual Maha-Parinirvana (death) is 486 BCE. The fact that King Ashoka's coronation to the throne was held after 218 years of Buddha's Mahaparinirvana (death). King Ashoka was most probably coronated in 269-68 BCE (assuming the period of 4/5 years as period of power struggle within Maurya Dynasty after the death of Bindusara (Ashoka's father) in 272 BCE). Since Ashoka was not a crown prince, there was power struggle between the sons of Bindusara (an uncertainty regarding the succession of Empire). Eventually Ashoka succeeded to power (Thapar, Romila 2012, Ashoka and the Decline of the Mauryas, Oxford University Press, pp. 18). 14.139.69.38 (talk) 11:58, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. This is the talk page for the Buddhism sidebar template that appears in various articles. Please discuss this at Talk:Buddhism instead (if that's the page with information you're objecting to). –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 15:32, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
