Draft: Charles Williams
perhaps i am confusing myself having spent some time on this today. did you by chance look at or comment on the draft article? there are approximately 20 references from 3rd parties documenting notoriety including wikipedia's page of department of defense presidential appointments. Honorable Charles Williams retired navy admiral. appreciate your help.Flagship1 (talk) 02:20, 11 October 2021 (UTC) flagship1
- @Flagship1: Yes I did, and I responded at Wikipedia:Teahouse#Draft article and at Wikipedia:Teahouse#Draft: Charles Williams. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 02:52, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
Some one else reviewed this article and approved it for submission so i forwarded. Now i am confused. Is it in the system or not.Flagship1 (talk) 23:04, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Flagship1: Draft:Charles Williams is in the system as a declined draft. Please provide more information showing that "Some one else reviewed this article and approved it for submission", and explain what you meant by "i forwarded". Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 23:13, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Flagship: Oh, are you referring to the discussion at User talk:Flagship1#Still very wrong on referencing? It appears you thanked the editor, added unreferenced information, and then submitted the draft for review. The editor wrote "If Declined, the Reviewer will identify shortfalls", which I did. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 23:18, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
Ok understand. Made reference changes requested by DavidnotMD and asked for another look.
after another review DavidnotMD approved but suggested adding a little more verbage but optional so Lebanon activity was added but now deleted. Looking for Legion Of Merit citation per your request to reference and will incorporate and can submit to you for a preliminary final review if you would. Flagship1 (talk) 23:49, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Flagship1: When you write an article (or a draft), you should first gather the reliable sources and then summarize/paraphrase what they say - see Help:Your first article. It's a lot harder to write an article and then hunt for sources to support what you wrote. If you have some personal relationship with Williams, then you need to declare your conflict of interest on your user page. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 13:07, 22 October 2021 (UTC)
Thank you
Thank you for the tip in the Wikipedia Teahouse. Cwater1 (talk) 02:57, 16 October 2021 (UTC)

somebody help me! :(
Hello can you please help me get my Ben Duracell Jones page accepted and published? — Preceding unsigned comment added by LaylaDakota (talk • contribs) 14:31, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
- @LaylaDakota: Hi there! I helped by making some minor improvements and tagging those sections of Draft:Ben Jones (boxer) that are unreferenced. Either provide references that show where you read this information, or remove the information. If you have any conflict of interest, you must declare it on your user page. Hope this helps, and happy editing! (Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four keyboard tildes like this:

THANKYOU!
Hello thanks for getting back to me so i see you have highlighted some issues! these have now been fixed so hopefully now the article will be accepted! if its not will you be able to help me further with this? is there anyway i can privately contact you? LaylaDakota (talk) 16:05, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
- @LaylaDakota: You don't have to create a new section header when continuing a conversation. If your draft is not accepted again, I hope the reviewer provides details for you. If not, feel free to reach out to them for those details. I prefer to have all Wikipedia conversations on Wikipedia. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 16:50, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
Feaco
Hi, thanks for your tips in the Teahouse. I tried to get more reference links into the article. The past presidents are only listed on the feaco webpage feaco.org. I found some articles about the former president at least... What do you think about the text now? Can you find a source I didn´t mentioned yet? Thanks a lot for your help! :-) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Akbn24 (talk • contribs) 14:35, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

- @Akbn24: Hi there! It seems you have written the draft, and are now trying to find references. It would be easier for you to first gather your independent reliable sources and then write the draft by summarizing/paraphrasing what they published. If you cannot find sufficient independent sources, then the organization won't meet Wikipedia's notability criteria for organizations. I recommend you read Help:Your first article if you have not done so already. Hope this helps, and happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 14:42, 27 October 2021 (UTC) - @GoingBatty: Hi, of course I´ve read about the first article and wrote my article first out of the sources. As I mentioned before it worked without problems in the German Wikipedia, but not in the English one. That´s why I added more sources. But I still don´t understand why the Wikipedia are working that different... :-( Akbn24 (talk) 13:44, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Akbn24: I don't understand how you wrote the English draft based on independent reliable sources. At the time I reviewed the draft, the lead, "Mission", "Feaco State of the industry barometer", and "Past Presidents" sections did not list any independent sources - only links to the Feaco web site. The "Current members" section had references to the home page of their web sites, which do not appear to mention Feaco. Also, if your draft is a translation of the German Wikipedia article, please provide attribution per WP:TFOLWP. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 14:15, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
Uploading gif image to mood ring site
Hi, I followed GoingBatty's advice to 1st upload my original mood ring gif using File Upload Wizard. I did not publish yet as further instrx were to go to the mood ring article & replace existing non-original mood ring gif with my gif HOWEVER I then need to add File:Yourfilename.gif... BUT which category on Wizard page is the file name - Image Title, Caption, Description? Thanks so much Moodman001 (talk) 15:09, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
- Courtesy link: Wikipedia:Teahouse § Uploading gif image to mood ring site
- @Moodman001: On the "Describe" tab, the file name is the Image title. It appears you successfully uploaded two files to Commons in July: File:OrigDrBlue.jpg and File:Mood Stone User Guide.png. Thank you for declaring your conflict of interest on your user page. Instead of editing the article directly, you may post suggestions on Talk:Mood ring with the {{request edit}} template or use the Wikipedia:Edit Request Wizard. Either way, please provide independent reliable sources. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 15:26, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
Still confused. On Describe pg, Image asks for "Create a unique descriptive title using plain language with spaces. Omit the file extension, if any. So do I enter the new jpeg gif there, or a full description eg, The Original Mood Stone ring? And if it wants a full description then what's the new file name to be, and where do I enter it. Sorry for ignorance;) Moodman001 (talk) 15:49, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Moodman001: You should enter the full description in the "Description" field. In the "Image title", you type the words that will become the file name. GoingBatty (talk) 16:01, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
Thanks Image successful BUT the Replace "code" also shows on the top of page - [[Replace [[File:Moodring1.jpg|thumb|A mood ring shown face front, showing a band of green color change across a brown background]] Moodman001 (talk) 17:05, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
What did I do wrong?Moodman001 (talk) 17:43, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Moodman001: Congratulations on uploading the photo! "Replace" means "substitute" or "take the place of". To be more clear, I could have written:
- 4a. Delete the code
[[File:Moodring1.jpg|thumb|A mood ring shown face front, showing a band of green color change across a brown background]]
- 4b. In its place, type something like
[[File:Yourfilename.gif|thumb|Your description of your photo]]
- Note that the tags
<code>...</code>
are used to put text in a different font, and<nowiki>...</nowiki>
are used to prevent Wikipedia from executing code (e.g. displaying an image). I was only using those tags to format the text to make it look nice on the Help desk page. GoingBatty (talk) 19:22, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Fa'Bidden Jewlz
A tag has been placed on Fa'Bidden Jewlz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. "Suggestions for resubmitted article"
Hi GoingBatty, sorry if I answer here but I'm a noob and I can't find our conversation in the Teahouse. I would like to thank you for your advice. I have edited the text as you suggested. Thank again, EnḫeduannaS (talk) 18:44, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- @EnḫeduannaS: Hi there! Posts at the Teahouse get archive if they haven't been updated in a few days, so yours is now at Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions/Archive 1128#Suggestions for resubmitted article. Hope you'll answer the question about whether you have a conflict of interest at the top of the draft. Good luck with your draft! GoingBatty (talk) 19:14, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- @GoingBatty: Hi! thanks for informing me about where the Teahouse conversations go after a few days :). I have already answered the question about COI in a conversation with the Eternal Shadow, who first asked me that question [1], should I also add a reference/link to that conversation in the sandbox? Any other advice to improve the text is welcome! thanks again for your help, have a nice day!EnḫeduannaS (talk) 09:52, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
- @EnḫeduannaS: I think it would be helpful if you reanswered the COI question on Draft:Demian Conrad, so it doesn't appear like you're ignoring it. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 02:41, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- @GoingBatty: Ok, I will do it! Thanks again :)!EnḫeduannaS (talk) 09:27, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
