  • Comment: The current article already covers the merged name which is recent and will probably be the name later going forward. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 18:08, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
  • Comment: Press releases are not reliable sources and standard announcements such as mergers do not convey notability. The The Law article is solid but only the firm is only mentioned briefly The Reuters article relies too heavily on what the firm says about itself so fine to use for establishing a fact but not usable for notability. Please see the notability guidelines for organizations. S0091 (talk) 21:05, 23 December 2021 (UTC)

Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP (often referred to simply as "Troutman Pepper") is an American law firm with more than 1,100 attorneys located in 23 U.S. cities.[1] In terms of revenue it placed 49th on The American Lawyer's 2021 AmLaw 100 rankings of U.S. law firms, with $918,010,000 in gross revenue in 2020.[2]

History

Troutman Sanders was founded in 1897 in Atlanta by the name of Walter T. Colquitt, Pepper Hamilton dates its founding to 1890 when former U.S. Senator George Wharton Pepper began his legal practice in Philadelphia.[3] On July 1, 2020 Troutman Sanders merged with Pepper Hamilton to become Troutman Pepper.[4][5]

In 2021, the firm partnered with the University of Richmond School of Law for "legal design challenge" which is a course that exposes the next generation of lawyers to the structure and business model of large law firms to potentially identify business improvements.[6]

On Dec. 20, 2021, its attorneys successfully overturned Devonia Inman wrongful conviction of a South Georgia murder after 23 years in prison.[7]
