- @Johnpacklambert: No, in all cases he would just have to pass GNG. Passing GNG and failing a sport-specific notability guideline is not and has never been grounds for deletion of an article. On the other hand, failing GNG but passing a sport-specific notability guideline is grounds for deletion of an article. All this is made very clear in WP:NSPORTS.
