Speedy was declined as the author claims they won a grammy. Band does not appear to be notable. Google search brings up myspace, facebook and ticket websites. The claim that they won a grammy in 2003 for album of the year is hogwash, Norah Jones won album of the year in 2003. <>Multi-Xfer<> (talk) 07:52, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Strong Delete: I have to admit that I'm extraordinarily disappointed in the performance of admin User:SoWhy in declining the speedy, with the edit summary "Decline speedy - Subject might be important/significant (check Google News)." A check of Google News shows 26 hits, all but one of them a mere "Set at Jerry's Bait Shop at 8 PM." (seriously!) That one exception is a three paragraph piece off the Kansas City Star website describing them as a local cover band; even if you accept the premise - which I don't - that such is a reliable source discussing the subject in significant detail, you need multiple sources, and that's not sufficient. If I'm going to take the ten seconds to pull up Google News, I'm going to take sixty more seconds to actually look at the results, and if I don't have sixty seconds to bother, I wouldn't dream of issuing a ruling. I see that SoWhy has a "mistakes" page where he keeps boners committed in his admin duties as a reminder, which is a worthy thing to do; pity this belongs on that page. - Speedy Delete. Classic NN band using wikipedia as their website/bio. TheWeakWilled 11:00, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Speedy delete now that the Grammy claim is no longer there. This doesn't need to sit here for a week. Hairhorn (talk) 12:49, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
