James Scott Murray (born 22 January, 1975 in Greater Manchester), is an English actor

Murray's great-grandfather was Richard Hollins Murray, who invented the reflecting lens in 1927.

After a child appearance in "Shoestring", Murray found fame as an adult in ITV 1's soap opera "Coronation Street" as Sandy Hunter. He then stared in a series of both film and television pieces on both sides of the Atlantic, including "Being John Malkovich", "North Square", "Monarch of the Glen", "Peak Practice" and "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas." He then found more permanent roles in Channel 4's "20 Things to Do Before You're 30" and BBC One's "Cutting It"

He is currently staring in BBC's Primeval television series.

Formerly romantically linked to North Square co-star Helen McCrory, he has more recently been linked to "Cutting It" co-star Sarah Parish.
