Arturo Bonín

Arturo José Bonini (11 November 11 1943 – 15 March 2022)[1] better known as Arturo Bonín, was an Argentine actor.

He worked in numerous national films and in novels and comic strips in his country. Perhaps one of his most remembered roles was his interpretation of the late national senator Enzo Bordabehere, in the Argentine film Asesinato en el Senado de la Nación, where, together with Pepe Soriano (who also played the national senator Lisandro de la Torre) recreated the events that took place during the presidency of Agustín P. Justo, which ended up leading to the regrettable murder of Bordabehere.

He also shot several other films and participated in national serials and soap operas such as Regalo del cielo, De corazón, Los buscas de siempre, Vidas robadas, or the strip for teenagers Rebelde Way, where he had an outstanding performance as the director of the fictitious educational establishment "Elite Way School". In 1991 he received the Konex Award - Diploma al Mérito.

In 2001, he was summoned to shoot the soap opera Dulce amor, where he would return to his acting career, playing José "Pepe" Fernández, a neighborhood kiosk owner to whom several hidden alternatives of his past are suddenly revealed, such as his paternity over the protagonist Victoria (played by Carina Zampini).

Biography

Although he was born in the porteño neighborhood of Villa Urquiza, he lived his childhood and youth in Villa Ballester, north of Greater Buenos Aires.[2] It is there where he had his first relationship with theater.

When I said I wanted to be an actor, my dad took me to the doctor. He went crazy. He was a great guy, but he went anywhere. We were in the late '50s and he imagined that development happened somewhere else. We went to the doctor and he told him I think it came out a little weird... he wants to act. The doctor calmed him down, told him there was nothing wrong. And my old man trusted me and gave me freedom.

He has worked in numerous plays and played several roles in cinema (Asesinato en el Senado de la Nación; Bairoletto, la historia de un rebelde; Iluminados por el fuego) and in television; among his most recent roles are Montecristo and Vidas robadas. In 1991 he was awarded the Diploma al Mérito of the Konex Awards for his dramatic work in radio and television for the period 1981-1990. In 2007 he played John Whitelocke in the theater play Whitelocke, an English general.

Private life

He married for the first time and had a son named but the relationship ended in divorce after 6 months.

Arturo Bonín and Susana Cart met in 1971 at the Payró theater. They have a daughter in common.[4] On February 9, 1996 they legalized their marriage civilly on the initiative of their children and with them as witnesses.
