The Australian Values Party is a minor political party founded on January 19th, 2022 by Heston Russell.[2][3][4] The AVP is a veterans rights focused party its founder being an ADF veteran [5][6]

Policies

The AVP has a slogan pertaining to their view on polices in election "Stop voting on Policies, Start voting on People."

The party has been critical of claims by the government that it is aiming to grow the national defence force. Party leader Heston Russell claims the number of military personel has actually reduced since 2020.[7]

2022 Federal Election

In the 2022 Australian Federal Election, the Australian Values Party fielded candidates for the senate in 4 states and 4 lower house seats.[8]

Andy Cullen will contest the Gold Coast electorate of McPherson on behalf of the party.[9] The party is also running in Kooyong, Wide Bay and Blair.[10]
