Corbin Bleu

Corbin Bleu (born Corbin Bleu Reivers on February 21, 1989) is an American actor, model, dancer and vocalist best known for his roles in the film Catch That Kid, the Disney Channel original movies High School Musical and Jump In!, and the series Flight 29 Down.

Family

Corbin Bleu was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Jamaican American actor David Reivers and an Italian American mother.

David Reivers played the father to Corbin Bleu's character in their Disney film, Jump In!. In an interview promoting this movie, it was revealed that Corbin Bleu was almost named "Bullet" after the U2 song "Bullet the Blue Sky".^[1]

Corbin has three sisters: Jag, Phoenix, and Hunter.

Career

Corbin began his career by modeling for clients such as Target and Toys R Us. In 1996, his family relocated to Los Angeles and he soon gained a returning role on the TV series High Incident and a guest star appearance on ER. Bleu also had small roles in films such as Soldier, Family Tree, Mystery Men and Galaxy Quest before he gained a lead role the 2004 film, Catch That Kid. After the success of Catch That Kid, Bleu signed to star in Flight 29 Down, a drama series about a group of teens stranded on an island.

In 2006, he had a prominent role as "Chad" (the best friend of the male lead) in the very successful High School Musical, the third top rated Disney Channel Original Movie of 2006. Corbin's next film, Jump In! co-starring actress and R&B vocalist Keke Palmer, premiered on January 12, 2007, and has since became the highest rated Disney Channel Original Movie of all time. His debut album, Another Side, is scheduled to be released on April 17, 2007.

Corbin attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, but left his junior year to become more serious in his acting.
