Erik Edman [IPA: 'eːrɪk 'eːdmɑn] (born November 11, 1978, in Huskvarna, Sweden) is a professional Swedish footballer, currently playing for Rennes in the French Ligue 1.

Before coming to France, Edman played for Helsingborgs IF and AIK in Sweden, Karlsruher SC in Germany, SC Heerenveen in the Netherlands and Tottenham Hotspur in England. He joined Rennes on August 31, 2005, for an undisclosed amount. Edman came to the club with a huge amount of international experience, being featured in the Swedish national team at Euro 2004 (he was part of the 2002 FIFA World Cup squad, but did not play). Edman is a very experienced left back for club and country.

By now, Edman has scored five times in official matches. The fans of Tottenham Hotspur will always remember his stunning goal from 35 yards against Liverpool on April 16, 2005, at Anfield. He also scored a free-kick for the Swedish national team in the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualification against Bulgaria at the Vassil Levski Stadium on March 26, 2005; a goal for Heerenveen on March 13, 2002, in the match Heerenveen 3 - 1 Fortuna; another goal for Heerenveen in the Amstel Cup 1/4 final against FC Utrecht (3-1 lost) on January 30th 2002, and a goal for Helsingborgs IF on May 17, 1999, in the match against Västra Frölunda IF (1-0 won).

He wears number 3 jersey for Rennes and number 5 for the Swedish National Squad.

Erik Edman married his girlfriend Hanna Kjellsson in december 2006.
