Swiss Center of Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education (French: Organe d'accréditation et d'assurance qualité des hautes écoles suisses), or simply OAQ, was formally an organization that provided evaluations of universities for institutional accreditation for higher education in Switzerland. It was part of the Swiss Accreditation Council (SAR) which selected the director of the OAQ.[1] It was legally responsible for reviewing the quality of teaching and research in Swiss universities, and carried out quality assurance of education and internal services procedures in accordance to their guidelines. When accrediting a university, the OAQ followed the procedures in accordance with the guidelines approved by the Swiss University Conference (CUS).[2] The organization was operational from 2001 to 2014, and was succeeded by the Swiss Agency for Accreditation and Quality Assurance (AAQ).[3]
