Bob Shane (born Robert Castle Schoen, 1 February 1934, in Hilo, Hawaii) is an American folk singer and one of the founding members of The Kingston Trio.

Shane met Dave Guard in high school; Guard went on to Stanford, while Shane attended Menlo College, where he met Nick Reynolds. In 1957, the three began performing together as The Kingston Trio. The next year, they recorded their first album, The Kingston Trio; one of the songs on the album, "Tom Dooley," caught the attention of DJs around the country, ending up the #1 song in the nation and launching the American folk revival.

Shane remained with the group through Guard's departure in 1961 (Guard was replaced by John Stewart), until they broke up in 1967. In 1969, together with Bill Zorn and Roger Gambill, he started "The New Kingston Trio," which he eventually renamed "The Kingston Trio" after purchasing the name from his former partners. Shane continued as a part of the group until a heart attack in 2004 forced his retirement.
