Albertino Essers (born May 30, 1969 in Oosterbeek) is a darts player from The Netherlands, who's nicknamed The Sensation. He competes for the British Darts Organisation. In the 2007 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championship, he defeated the number 2 seed Scotland's Gary Anderson in the first round, but lost to fellow Scotsman Paul Hanvidge in the second round. Hanvidge was also Essers's conquerer in the second round in 2006, after Essers had defeated an out of sorts Ted Hankey 3-1 in the first round. At one point, Essers was suffering from Dartitis, which is the inability to release the dart while throwing. This was evident in his match against Australian Steve Duke in the first round of the 2004 World Championship. His nerves are still somewhat of a problem at times, but his recovery and improvement has impressed Bobby George and many players on the tour.
