Death
Boxing Champion Birju Shah died on 4 September 2022 at the age of 50 years, at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. He was suffering from Blood Pressure, Diabetes and liver related disease. He left behind his wife, a son and a daughter.
Due to poor financial condition, Birju worked last 7 years as a security guard to feed his family. In such situation, his children had to drop their studies. Both his father and wife are suffering from paralysis. Neither the Boxing Federation nor the government extended a helping hand to this champion.[1][2]
