Bolton High School is a high school(grades 9-12) located in Arlington, Tennessee that is part of the Shelby County school system. Their mascot is the Wildcat.
History
The current Bolton High School campus exists on the former Hoboken Plantation owned by Wade H. Bolton. Upon his death in 1869, the prominent land owner set aside 1,200 acres for the founding of an agricultural college. Bolton operated as an agricultural college and teacher's preparatory school from 1887 to 1911, whereupon it became part of the Shelby County School system. By 1925, Bolton had been designated as a secondary school and has remained a part of the Shelby County school system ever since. In 2003, the largest freshman class in Bolton's history enrolled. With approximately 700 students, give or take a few, this class hastened the opening of a much needed Arlington High School. They will graduate in 2007 with over 600 in the class.
